First Result from the Alpha Magnetic Spectrometer on the International Space Station: Precision Measurement of the Positron Fraction in Primary Cosmic Rays of 0.5–350 GeV / AMS Collaboration
A precision measurement by the Alpha Magnetic Spectrometer on the International Space Station of the positron fraction in primary cosmic rays in the energy range from 0.5 to 350 GeV based on 6.8×106 positron and electron events is presented. The very accurate data show that the positron fraction is steadily increasing from 10 to ∼250  GeV, but, from 20 to 250 GeV, the slope decreases by an order of magnitude. [...]

The Alpha Magnetic Spectrometer (AMS) on the International Space Station. I: Results from the test flight on the space shuttle / AMS Collaboration
The Alpha Magnetic Spectrometer (AMS) was flown on the space shuttle Discovery during flight STS-91 (June 1998) in a 51.7° orbit at altitudes between 320 and 390 km . A search for antihelium nuclei in the rigidity range 1– 140 GV was performed. [...]

Isotopic Composition of Light Nuclei in Cosmic Rays: Results from AMS-01 / AMS-01 Collaboration
The variety of isotopes in cosmic rays allows us to study different aspects of the processes that cosmic rays undergo between the time they are produced and the time of their arrival in the heliosphere. In this paper, we present measurements of the isotopic ratios $^2$H/$^4$He, $^3$He/$^4$He, $^6$Li/$7$Li, $7$Be/($^9$Be+$^{10}$Be), and $^{10}$B/$^{11}$B in the range 0.2-1.4 GeV of kinetic energy per nucleon. Relative Composition and Energy Spectra of Light Nuclei in Cosmic Rays. Results from AMS-01 / AMS-01 Collaboration
Measurement of the chemical and isotopic composition of cosmic rays is essential for the precise understanding of their propagation in the galaxy. While the model parameters are mainly determined using the B/C ratio, the study of extended sets of ratios can provide stronger constraints on the propagation models. [...]

Cosmic-ray positron fraction measurement from 1 to 30 GeV with AMS-01 / AMS-01 Collaboration
A measurement of the cosmic ray positron fraction e+/(e+ + e-) in the energy range of 1-30 GeV is presented. The measurement is based on data taken by the AMS-01 experiment during its 10 day Space Shuttle flight in June 1998. [...]

A transition radiation detector for pion identification in the 100 GeV /c momentum region / Commichau, V ; Deutschmann, Martin ; Goddeke, H ; Hangarter, K ; Putzhofen, U ; Schulte, R ; Struczinski, W
A large area transition radiation detector has been proposed for the European Hybrid Spectrometer at CERN. Its construction is based on experience with a smaller size model detector which has been tested in hadron beams between 40 and 140 GeV/c momentum. [...]

The vertex drift chamber of the L3 Experiment at LEP, based on the time expansion principle, was in operation from the start-up of LEP in 1989 until the shutdown of LEP in 2000. The gas mixture used was 80% CO//2 and 20% i-C//4H//1//0 at a pressure of 1200 mbar. [...]

The innermost region of the CMS detector will consist of silicon pixel and silicon microstrip detectors. One microstrip detector module is essentially composed of three elements: a set of silicon sensors, a mechanical support structure and the Front End Electronics (FE hybrid). [...]
