Nuclear ground-state spin of $^{185}$Au and magnetic moments of $^{187, 188}$Au : Further evidence for coexisting nuclear shapes in this mass region
/ Ekström, C ; Ingelman, S ; Ragnarsson, I ; Robertsson, L ; Wannberg, G
Hyperfine structure measurements have been performed in some neutron- deficient gold isotopes, using online atomic-beam magnetic resonance (ABMR) techniques at the ISOLDE facility, CERN. The following results have been obtained: /sup 185/Au, I=/sup 5///sub 2/; /sup 187/Au, Delta nu =44.35(60) GHz, mu =0.72(7) nm and /sup 188/Au, Delta nu =+or-2992 (30) MHz. [...]

On the interplay between rotation, deformation and pairing
/ Bengtsson, R ; Zhang, J ; Åberg, S ; Ragnarsson, I
The influence of angular momentum on the extension of deformed regions is studied. Techniques based on the similarity between pairing rotational bands and ordinary rotational bands are used. [...]

The strongly deformed nucleus /sup 100/Sr
/ Mattsson, S ; Azuma, R E ; Gustafsson, Hans Åke ; Hansen, P G ; Jonson, B ; Lindfors, V ; Nyman, G H ; Ragnarsson, I ; Ravn, H L ; Schardt, D
Experiments on the nucleus /sup 100/Sr are reviewed. The activity was produced by fission with 600 MeV protons on a uranium target and after mass separation studied by gamma-ray and conversion-electron spectroscopy and by nanosecond lifetime measurements. [...]

On the 9/2$^{-}$ level excitation energy of odd Tl, Au and Ir isotopes
/ Dionisio, J S (CSNSM, Orsay) ; Beiner, M (Orsay, IPN) ; De Wieclawik, W (Orsay, IPN) ; Foucher, R (Orsay, IPN) ; Larsson, S E (Lund Inst. Tech.) ; Leander, G (Lund Inst. Tech.) ; Ragnarsson, I (Lund Inst. Tech.) ; Vieu, C (CSNSM, Orsay)
A semi-empirical method inspired by Blomqvist previous calculations of the excitation energy of the lowest 9/2/sup -/ state of /sup 201/Tl is applied to similar calculations in different Tl, Au and Ir isotopes. These semi-empirical estimates agree well with the experimental values of these excitation energies as well as with the energy differences deduced from the analysis of the total potential energy surfaces calculated microscopically with Nilsson's model. The odd-proton effects on the potential energy surfaces of odd mass Tl, Au, Ir and Re isotopes
/ De Wieclawik, W (Orsay, IPN) ; Ragnarsson, I (Lund Inst. Tech.) ; Larsson, S E (Lund Inst. Tech.) ; Leander, G (Lund Inst. Tech.) ; Vieu, C (CSNSM, Orsay) ; Dionisio, J S (CSNSM, Orsay)
The total potential energy surfaces of thallium, gold, iridium and rhenium odd mass isotopes are calculated microscopically as functions of the quadrupole deformation, epsilon /sub 2/, when the odd protons occupy definite orbitals. The nuclear shapes and the static equilibrium deformations of these nuclei are deduced from the results of these calculations for the proton orbitals nearest to the Fermi level. [...]

Particle-rotor descriptions of odd mass Tl, Au, Ir isotopes
/ Vieu, C (CSNSM, Orsay) ; Larsson, S E (Lund Inst. Tech.) ; Leander, G (Lund Inst. Tech.) ; Ragnarsson, I (Lund Inst. Tech.) ; De Wieclawik, W (Orsay, IPN) ; Dionisio, J S (CSNSM, Orsay)
Extensive asymmetric rotor model calculations were applied to the odd mass Tl, Au and Ir isotopes in order to test the ability of this model to account for the observed negative parity systems of levels and electromagnetic properties. The epsilon /sub 2/ quadrupole deformation of the core is derived from the potential energy curves and the gamma deformation is the only free parameter. [...]
