First GEM measurements at WEST and perspectives for fast electrons and heavy impurities transport studies in tokamaks / WEST Team Collaboration
Soft X-ray (SXR) radiation emitted from tokamak plasmas contains very useful information about plasma stability, shape and impurity content, all key parameters to improve plasma performance. In the deuterium-tritium phase of ITER, the high neutron fluxes, gamma and hard X-ray emission will constitute too harsh an environment to permit the use of classical semiconductor detectors. [...]

The search for new technologies in the field of plasma diagnostics entails the increasing demands on the radiative stability of the used materials due to development and usage of fusion facilities, where the study of processes occurring during the interaction of radiation with matter has become particularly important. Currently, a new X-ray imaging detection technology is required for tokamaks such as ITER. [...]

Implementation of the data acquisition system for the Overlap Modular Track Finder in the CMS experiment / CMS Collaboration
The CMS experiment is currently undergoing the upgrade of its trigger, including the Level-1 muon trigger. In the barrel-endcap transition region the Overlap Muon Track Finder (OMTF) combines data from three types of detectors (RPC, DT, and CSC) to find the muon candidates. To monitor the operation of the OMTF, it is important to receive the data which were the basis for the trigger decision. New Fast Beam Conditions Monitoring (BCM1F) system for CMS / for the CMS Collaboration
The CMS Beam Radiation Instrumentation and Luminosity (BRIL) project is composed of several systems providing the experiment protection from adverse beam conditions while also measuring the online luminosity and beam background. Although the readout bandwidth of the Fast Beam Conditions Monitoring system (BCM1F - one of the faster monitoring systems of the CMS BRIL), was sufficient for the initial LHC conditions, the foreseen enhancement of the beams parameters after the LHC Long Shutdown-1 (LS1) imposed the upgrade of the system.
