The prompt and delayed $\gamma $-ray spectra of $^{187}$Tl was studied via the $^{142}$Nd($^{50}$Cr, 3p2n)$^{187}$Tl fusion-evaporation reaction at a beam energy of 255 MeV. An enhanced level scheme of $^{187}$Tl was established. [...]

Shape evolution in even-mass $^{98-104}$Zr isotopes via lifetime measurements using the $\gamma \gamma $-coincidence technique

The Zirconium (Z = 40) isotopic chain has attracted interest for more than four decades. The abrupt lowering of the energy of the first $2^+$ state and the increase in the transition strength B(E2; $2_1^\rightarrow 0_1^+$ going from $^{98}$Zr to $^{100}$Zr has been the first example of "quantum phase transition" in nuclear shapes, which has few equivalents in the nuclear chart. Prompt and delayed γ-ray spectroscopy of the neutron-deficient, semi-magic isotope 187Pb has been performed using the recoil-decay and isomer-decay tagging techniques at the Argonne Gas-Filled Analyzer. A new 5.15(15)-μs isomeric state at only 308 keV above the spherical 3/2− ground state is identified and classified as a shape isomer. [...]

Improving Variational Autoencoders for New Physics Detection at the LHC with Normalizing Flows

We investigate how to improve new physics detection strategies exploiting variational autoencoders and normalizing flows for anomaly detection at the Large Hadron Collider. As a working example, we consider the DarkMachines challenge dataset. [...]

Golden Probe of Electroweak Symmetry Breaking

The ratio of the Higgs couplings to $WW$ and $ZZ$ pairs, $\lambda_{WZ}$, is a fundamental parameter in electroweak symmetry breaking as well as a measure of the (approximate) custodial symmetry possessed by the gauge boson mass matrix. We show that Higgs decays to four leptons are sensitive, via tree level/1-loop interference effects, to both the magnitude and, in particular, overall sign of $\lambda_{WZ}$. [...]

Golden probe of the top Yukuwa coupling
/ Chen, Yi (Caltech) ; Stolarski, Daniel (CERN) ; Vega-Morales, Roberto (Orsay, LPT)
We perform a preliminary study of the ability of the Higgs decay to four leptons to shed light on the top quark Yukawa couplings. In particular we examine whether the $h\to 4\ell$ `golden channel' is sensitive to the $CP$ properties of the top quark couplings to the Higgs boson. [...]
