For the development of charged particle detectors based on straw tubes operating in vacuum, a special measurement technique is required for the evaluation of their mechanical properties. A summary of the known equations that govern straw behavior under internal pressure is provided, and a new experimental method of a strained pressurized straw tube study is presented in this paper. Among the meson decays, K→πνν‾ are the cleanest environment, from the theoretical point of view, where to search for new physics effects. The NA62 Experiment at CERN SPS aims to measure the BR(K+→π+νν‾) with a 10% precision by the end of 2018. [...]

Determination of the anode wire position by visible light in a new type straw for NA62 experiment tracker
/ Glonti, L (Dubna, JINR) ; Misheva, M (Dubna, JINR) ; Potrebenikov, Yu (Dubna, JINR) ; Samsonov, V (Dubna, JINR) ; Movchan, S (Dubna, JINR) ; Enik, T (Dubna, JINR) ; Kolesnikov, A (Dubna, JINR)
Microscope investigations of new-type thin-wall tubes (straws) produced for NA62 drift chambers revealed that they are semitransparent and allow anode wires to be observed under illumination by visible light. In this work it is shown that positions of wires in straws and thus the anode spacing in the drift chambers can be directly determined with a high accuracy (~5–10 µm) using a microscope mounted on a high-precision optical bench. The beam and detector of the NA62 experiment at CERN
/ NA62 Collaboration
NA62 is a fixed-target experiment at the CERN SPS dedicated to measurements of rare kaon decays. Such measurements, like the branching fraction of the $K^{+} \rightarrow \pi^{+} \nu \bar\nu$ decay, have the potential to bring significant insights into new physics processes when comparison is made with precise theoretical predictions. [...]
