Powering Performance and Endurance Beyond Design Limits of HL-LHC Low-Beta Quadrupole Model Magnets / Mangiarotti, Franco J (CERN) ; Ferradas Troitino, Salvador (CERN) ; Duda, Michal (Cracow, INP) ; Bajko, Marta (CERN) ; Bottura, Luca (CERN) ; Desbiolles, Vincent (CERN) ; Elekes, Gyopar (Babes-Bolyai U.) ; Ferradas Troitino, Jose (METROLAB, Geneva ; CERN) ; Feuvrier, Jerome (CERN) ; Ferracin, Paolo (LBNL, Berkeley) et al.
For the High Luminosity Upgrade project (HL-LHC) of the CERN Large Hadron Collider (LHC), lower β* quadrupole magnets based on advanced Nb 3 Sn conductors will be installed on each side of the ATLAS and CMS interaction points. To quantify the endurance and technological limits of these magnets, beyond their maximum operational conditions, two short length model magnets have been extensively tested at the CERN SM18 test facility. Test of the First Full-Length Prototype of the HL-LHC D2 Orbit Corrector Based on Canted Cosine Theta Technology / Mangiarotti, Franco J (CERN) ; Duda, Michal (Cracow, INP ; CERN) ; Fiscarelli, Lucio (CERN) ; Kirby, Glyn (CERN) ; Bajko, Marta (CERN) ; Coll, Dominic (Unlisted, GB) ; Desbiolles, Vincent ; Feuvrier, Jerome (CERN) ; Guyon, Jean-Luc (CERN) ; Mazet, Jacky (CERN) et al.
In the context of CERN's high-luminosity upgrade project (HL-LHC) for the Large Hadron Collider (LHC), a new double aperture beam orbit corrector magnets will be installed near the recombination dipole (D2). These 2.2 m long NbTi dipoles are built with the canted cosine theta (CCT) technique. [...]

Power test of the second-generation Compact Linear Collider (CLIC) Nb$_3$Sn damping wiggler short model / Duda, Michal (Cracow, INP ; CERN) ; Mangiarotti, Franco (CERN) ; Bajko, Marta (CERN) ; Bernhard, Axel (KIT, Karlsruhe) ; Desbiolles, Vincent (CERN) ; Ferracin, Paolo (CERN) ; Feuvrier, Jerome (CERN) ; Garcia Fajardo, Laura (LBL, Berkeley) ; Lorenzo, Jose (CERN) ; Mazet, Jacky (CERN) et al.
In the frame of the compact linear collider project, a high-field short-period superconducting damping wigglers will be required to reduce the emittance of the electron and positron beams. The use of Nb$_3$Sn as superconducting material is being investigated, as a valid option for its smaller size and increased working margin. [...]

Test Results of the CERN HL-LHC low-$\beta$ Quadrupole Short Models MQXFS3c and MQXFS4 / Mangiarotti, Franco J (CERN) ; Bajas, Hugues (CERN) ; Ambrosio, Giorgio (Fermilab) ; Bajko, Marta (CERN) ; Bordini, Bernardo (CERN) ; Bourcey, Nicolas (CERN) ; Duda, Michal (Cracow, INP ; CERN) ; Desbiolles, Vincent (CERN) ; Feuvrier, Jerome (CERN) ; Fleiter, Jerome (CERN) et al. /LARP
For the High Luminosity Upgrade of the CERN Large Hadron Collider, lower $\beta$* quadrupole magnets based on advanced Nb3Sn conductors will be installed on each side of the ATLAS and CMS experiment insertion zones. As part of the technological developments needed to achieve the required field gradient of 132.6 T/m within a 150-mm aperture, short length model magnets, named MQXFS, are tested both at the CERN SM18 and FERMI Lab test facilities. Test of short model and prototype of the HL-LHC D2 orbit corrector based on CCT technology / Mangiarotti, Franco (CERN) ; Kirby, Glyn (CERN) ; Duda, Michal (Cracow, INP ; CERN) ; Mentink, Matthias (CERN) ; Fiscarelli, Lucio (CERN) ; Bajko, Marta (CERN) ; Coll, Dominic (Unlisted, GB) ; Desbiolles, Vincent (CERN) ; Feuvrier, Jerome (CERN) ; Mazet, Jacky (CERN) et al.
In the frame of the high-luminosity upgrade project for the large hadron collider, new twin aperture beam orbit corrector magnets will be installed near the recombination dipole (D2). These magnets are 2.2 m long canted cosine theta NbTi dipoles, with two independently powered apertures oriented such that their field vectors are perpendicular to each other and to the direction of the beams. [...]

Towards an Optimized Coupling-loss Induced Quench Protection System (CLIQ) for Quadrupole Magnets / Ravaioli, Emmanuele (CERN ; Twente U., Enschede) ; Datskov, Vladimir I (CERN) ; Desbiolles, Vincent (CERN) ; Feuvrier, Jerome (CERN) ; Kirby, Glyn (CERN) ; Maciejewski, Michal (CERN ; Lodz, Tech. U.) ; Sperin, Kevin A (CERN ; Birmingham U.) ; ten Kate, Herman H J (CERN ; Twente U., Enschede) ; Verweij, Arjan P (CERN) ; Willering, Gerard (CERN)
The recently developed Coupling-Loss-Induced Quench (CLIQ) protection system is a new method for initiating a fast and voluminous transition to the normal state for protecting high energy density superconducting magnets. Its simple and robust electrical design, its lower failure rate, and its more efficient energy deposition mechanism make CLIQ often preferable to other conventional quench protection methods. [...]
