Effect of gamma irradiation on leakage current in CMOS read-out chips for the ATLAS upgrade silicon strip tracker at the HL-LHC / Stucci, Stefania Antonia (Brookhaven Natl. Lab.) ; Burns, Russel (Brookhaven Natl. Lab.) ; Lynn, Dave (Brookhaven Natl. Lab.) ; Kierstead, James (Brookhaven Natl. Lab.) ; Kuczewski, Philip (Brookhaven Natl. Lab.) ; van Nieuwenhuizen, Gerrit J (Brookhaven Natl. Lab.) ; Rosin, Guy (UMass Amherst) ; Tricoli, Alessandro (Brookhaven Natl. Lab.)
The increase of the leakage current of NMOS transistors in detector readout chips in certain 130 nm CMOS technologies during exposure to ionising radiation needs special consideration in the design of detector systems, as this can result in a large increase of the supply current and power dissipation. As part of the R&D; program for the upgrade of the ATLAS inner detector tracker for the High Luminosity upgrade of the LHC at CERN, a dedicated set of irradiations have been carried out with the $^60$Co gamma-ray source at the Brookhaven National Laboratory. Event-by-event charged-neutral fluctuations in Pb+Pb collisions at 158 A~GeV / WA98 Collaboration
Charged particles and photons have been measured in central Pb+Pb collisions at 158 A GeV in a common ($\eta$ - $\phi$)-phase space region in the WA98 experiment at the CERN SPS. The measured distributions have been analyzed %using the sliding window method in order to quantify the frequency with which phase space regions of varying sizes have either small or large neutral pion fraction. Source radii at target rapidity from two-proton and two-deuteron correlations in central Pb+Pb collisions at 158 A GeV / WA98 Collaboration
Two-proton and two-deuteron correlations have been studied in the target fragmentation region of central Pb+Pb collisions at 158 A GeV. [...]

Suppression of High-pT Neutral Pions in Central Pb+Pb Collisions at sqrt{s_NN} = 17.3 GeV / WA98 Collaboration
Neutral pion transverse momentum spectra were measured in p+C and p+Pb collisions at sqrt{s_NN} = 17.4 GeV at mid-rapidity (2.3 <eta < 3.0) over the range 0.7 <p_T < 3.5 GeV/c. The spectra are compared to neutral pion spectra measured in Pb+Pb collisions at the same energy in the same experiment. [...]

Pion Freeze-Out Time in Pb+Pb Collisions at 158 A GeV/c Studied via pi-/pi+ and K-/K+ Ratios / WA98 Collaboration
The effect of the final state Coulomb interaction on particles produced in Pb+Pb collisions at 158 A GeV/c has been investigated in the WA98 experiment through the study of the pi-/pi+ and K-/K+ ratios measured as a function of transverse mass. While the ratio for kaons shows no significant transverse mass dependence, the pi-/pi+ ratio is enhanced at small transverse mass values with an enhancement that increases with centrality. [...]

Azimuthal anisotropy of photon and charged particle emission in Pb-208 + Pb-208 collisions at 158-A-GeV/c / WA98 Collaboration
The azimuthal distributions of photons and charged particles with respect to the event plane are investigated as a function of centrality in Pb + Pb collisions at 158 A GeV/c in the WA98 experiment at the CERN SPS. The anisotropy of the azimuthal distributions is characterized using a Fourier analysis. [...]
