This study measured the Be10 and Al26 production cross sections of muon-induced long-lived radionuclides to investigate the long-term variations in high-energy cosmic ray muon yields and high-energy galactic cosmic rays over a few million years. We exposed targets consisting of synthetic silica plates and quartz samples in a 1-m-long granite core to a beam containing 8.79×1012 positive muons over ∼120 days with an energy of 160 GeV extracted at the COMPASS experiment line at CERN-SPS. High energy muon induced radioactive nuclides in nickel plate and its use for 2-D muon-beam image profile
/ Kurebayashi, Y (Yamagata U.) ; Sakurai, H (Yamagata U.) ; Takahashi, Y (Yamagata U.) ; Doshita, N (Yamagata U.) ; Kikuchi, S (Yamagata U.) ; Tokanai, F (Yamagata U.) ; Horiuchi, K (Hirosaki U.) ; Tajima, Y (Yamagata U.) ; Oe, T (Yamagata U.) ; Sato, T (Yamagata U.) et al.
Target materials were exposed to a muon beam with an energy of 160 GeV/c at the COMPASS experiment line in CERN-SPS to measure the production cross-sections for muon-induced radionuclides. A muon imager containing four nickel plates, each measuring 100 mm×100 mm, exposed to the IP plate successfully detected the muon beam image during an irradiation period of 33 days. [...]

Recent developments of transition-edge sensors (TESs), based on extensive experience in ground-based experiments, have been making the sensor techniques mature enough for their application on future satellite CMB polarization experiments. LiteBIRD is in the most advanced phase among such future satellites, targeting its launch in Japanese Fiscal Year 2027 (2027FY) with JAXA's H3 rocket. [...]

The isotopic distribution of the production cross sections of $^{136}$Xe on proton and carbon at 168 MeV/u were obtained in inverse kinematics technique at RIKEN Radioactive Isotope Beam Factory. The target dependence at 168 MeV/u was investigated systematically. [...]

Production cross sections of residual nuclei via proton-and deuteron-induced spallation reactions on 91,92 Y, 92,93 Zr, and 93,94 Nb at projectile energies Production cross sections of residual nuclei via proton-and deuteron-induced spallation reactions on $^{91,92}$Y,$^{92,93}$Zr,and $^{93,94}$Nb at projectile energies around 100 MeV/nucleon were measured in inverse kinematics at the RIKEN Radioactive Isotope Beam Factory. Noticeable jumps in the measured cross sections of isotone production appear between the neutron numbers N =51 and 50 for target nuclei with the initial neutron number N$_{init}$ =53 ($^{92}$Y, $^{93}$Zr, and $^{94}$Nb), while such jump is not clearly seen for target nuclei with N$^{init}$=52($^{91}$Y,$^{92}$Zr, and $^{93}$Nb).
