Dynamical sectors of a relativistic two particle model / Dominici, Daniele (INFN, Florence ; Florence U.) ; Gomis, Joaquim (CERN ; ICC, Barcelona U. ; Barcelona U., ECM) ; Kamimura, Kiyoshi (Toho U.) ; Longhi, Giorgio (INFN, Florence ; Florence U.)
We reconsider a model of two relativistic particles interacting via a multiplicative potential, as an example of a simple dynamical system with sectors, or branches, with different dynamics and degrees of freedom. The presence or absence of sectors depends on the values of rest masses. Some aspects of the canonical quantization are described. [...]

Space-time Vector Supersymmetry and Massive Spinning Particle / Casalbuoni, Roberto. (Florence U. ; INFN, Florence) ; Gomis, Joaquim (CERN ; Barcelona U., ECM ; ICC, Barcelona U.) ; Kamimura, Kiyoshi (Toho U.) ; Longhi, Giorgio (Florence U. ; INFN, Florence)
We construct the action of a relativistic spinning particle from a non-linear realization of a space-time odd vector extension of the Poincar\'e group. For particular values of the parameters appearing in the lagrangian the model has a gauge world-line supersymmetry.{As a consequence of this local symmetry there are BPS solutions in the model preserving 1/5 of the supersymmetries.} A supersymmetric invariant quantization produces two decoupled 4d Dirac equations..

Anisotropic harmonic oscillator, non-commutative Landau problem and exotic Newton-Hooke symmetry / Alvarez, Pedro D. (Chile U., Santiago) ; Gomis, Joaquim (Barcelona U., ECM ; CERN) ; Kamimura, Kiyoshi (Toho U.) ; Plyushchay, Mikhail S. (Chile U., Santiago)
We investigate the planar anisotropic harmonic oscillator with explicit rotational symmetry as a particle model with non-commutative coordinates. It includes the exotic Newton-Hooke particle and the non-commutative Landau problem as special, isotropic and maximally anisotropic, cases. [...]

Kac-Moody Spectrum of (Half-)Maximal Supergravities / Bergshoeff, Eric A. (Groningen U.) ; Gomis, Joaquim (Barcelona U., ECM ; CERN) ; Nutma, Teake A. (Groningen U.) ; Roest, Diederik (Barcelona U., ECM)
We establish the correspondence between, on one side, the possible gaugings and massive deformations of half-maximal supergravity coupled to vector multiplets and, on the other side, certain generators of the associated very extended Kac-Moody algebras. The difference between generators associated to gaugings and to massive deformations is pointed out. [...]

Exotic Non-relativistic String / Casalbuoni, Roberto (Florence U. ; INFN, Florence ; GGI, Florence) ; Gomis, Joaquim (CERN ; Barcelona U., ECM) ; Longhi, Giorgio (Florence U. ; INFN, Florence)
We construct a classical non-relativistic string model in 3+1 dimensions. The model contains a spurion tensor field that is responsible for the non-commutative structure of the model. [...]

Gauge and BRST Generators for Space-Time Non-commutative U(1) Theory / Gomis, Joaquim (CERN ; Barcelona U., ECM ; Barcelona, IFAE) ; Kamimura, Kiyoshi (Toho U.) ; Mateos, Toni (Barcelona U., ECM ; Barcelona, IFAE)
The Hamiltonian (gauge) symmetry generators of non-local (gauge) theories are presented. The construction is based on the d+1 dimensional space-time formulation of d dimensional non-local theories. [...]

Hamiltonian Formalism for Space-time Non-commutative Theories / Gomis, Joaquim (CERN ; Barcelona, IFAE) ; Kamimura, Kiyoshi (Toho U.) ; Llosa, Josep (Barcelona, IFAE)
Space-time non-commutative theories are non-local in time. We develop the Hamiltonian formalism for non-local field theories in d space-time dimensions by considering auxiliary d+1 dimensional field theories which are local with respect to the evolution time. [...]

On the stringy nature of winding modes in noncommutative thermal field theories / Arcioni, G. (Turin U. ; INFN, Turin ; Utrecht U.) ; Barbon, J.L.F. (CERN) ; Gomis, Joaquim (Barcelona U. ; Barcelona, IFAE ; CERN) ; Vazquez-Mozo, M.A. (Amsterdam U. ; Utrecht U.)
We show that thermal noncommutative field theories admit a version of `channel duality' reminiscent of open/closed string duality, where non-planar thermal loops can be replaced by an infinite tower of tree-level exchanges of effective fields. These effective fields resemble closed strings in three aspects: their mass spectrum is that of closed-string winding modes, their interaction vertices contain extra moduli, and they can be regarded as propagating in a higher-dimensional `bulk' space-time.
