The Forward Physics Facility at the High-Luminosity LHC / Feng, Jonathan L. (UC, Irvine) ; Kling, Felix (DESY) ; Reno, Mary Hall (Iowa U.) ; Rojo, Juan (NIKHEF, Amsterdam ; Vrije U., Amsterdam) ; Soldin, Dennis (Delaware U.) ; Anchordoqui, Luis A. (Lehman Coll.) ; Boyd, Jamie (CERN) ; Ismail, Ahmed (Oklahoma State U.) ; Harland-Lang, Lucian (Oxford U. ; Oxford U., Theor. Phys.) ; Kelly, Kevin J. (CERN) et al.
High energy collisions at the High-Luminosity Large Hadron Collider (LHC) produce a large number of particles along the beam collision axis, outside of the acceptance of existing LHC experiments. The proposed Forward Physics Facility (FPF), to be located several hundred meters from the ATLAS interaction point and shielded by concrete and rock, will host a suite of experiments to probe Standard Model (SM) processes and search for physics beyond the Standard Model (BSM) [...]

Through the looking-glass with ALICE into the quark-gluon plasma: A new test for hadronic interaction models used in air shower simulations / Anchordoqui, Luis A. (Lehman Coll. ; CUNY, Graduate School - U. Ctr. ; Amer. Museum Natural Hist.) ; García Canal, Carlos (La Plata U.) ; Sciutto, Sergio J. (La Plata U.) ; Soriano, Jorge F. (Lehman Coll. ; CUNY, Graduate School - U. Ctr.)
Recently, the ALICE Collaboration reported an enhancement of the yield ratio of strange and multi-strange hadrons to charged pions as a function of multiplicity at mid-rapidity in proton-proton, proton-lead, lead-lead, and xenon-xenon scattering. ALICE observations provide a strong indication that a quark-gluon plasma is partly formed in high multiplicity events of both small and large colliding systems. [...]

Photoproduction with a mini-jet model and Cosmic Ray showers / Cornet, Fernando (Granada U., Theor. Phys. Astrophys.) ; Garcia-Canal, Carlos (La Plata U.) ; Grau, Agnes (Granada U., Theor. Phys. Astrophys.) ; Pancheri, Giulia (Frascati) ; Sciutto, Sergio J. (La Plata U.)
We present post-LHC updates of estimates of the total photo-production cross section in a mini-jet model with infrared soft gluon resummation, and apply the model to study Cosmic Ray shower development, comparing the results with those obtained from other existing models..

Hunting long-lived gluinos at the Pierre Auger Observatory / Anchordoqui, Luis A. (Wisconsin U., Milwaukee) ; Delgado, Antonio (CERN ; Notre Dame U.) ; Garcia Canal, Carlos A. (La Plata U.) ; Sciutto, Sergio J. (La Plata U.)
Eventual signals of split sypersymmetry in cosmic ray physics are analyzed in detail. The study focusses particularly on quasi-stable colorless R-hadrons originating through confinement of long-lived gluinos (with quarks, anti-quarks, and gluons) produced in pp collisions at astrophysical sources.
