Color fluctuation phenomena in $\gamma A$ collisions at the LHC / Alvioli, M (IRPI, Perugia) ; Frankfurt, L (Tel Aviv U. ; Penn State U.) ; Guzey, V (St. Petersburg, INP) ; Strikman, Mark (Penn State U.) ; Zhalov, M (St. Petersburg, INP)
We explain that  color fluctuations (CFs) in the light-cone photon  wave function  lead to much stronger shadowing in the coherent production both in the soft regime ($\rho$ -meson photoproduction)  and in the hard regime ($J/\psi$ photoproduction). We make CF based  predictions for the distribution over the number  of wounded nucleons $\nu$ in the inelastic photon--nucleus scattering.  We show that CFs lead to a dramatic enhancement of this distribution at $\nu=1$ and large $\nu > 10$. Direct photon production and flow at low transverse momenta in pp, p-Pb and Pb-Pb collisions / Schmidt, Nicolas (ORNL, Oak Ridge (main) ; Frankfurt U., Inst. Kernphys.) /ALICE Collaboration
Low transverse momentum direct photon measurements have been carried out by the ALICE experiment at the CERN LHC in small collision systems (pp, $\sqrt{s}=2.76$ and 8 TeV and p--Pb, $\sqrt{s_\text{NN}}=5.02$ TeV) as well as in heavy-ion collisions (Pb--Pb, $\sqrt{s_\text{NN}}=2.76$ TeV). For the first time, also the multiplicity dependence of direct photon production was investigated in p--Pb collisions. [...]

Topological Susceptibility under Gradient Flow / Mejía-Díaz, Héctor (Mexico U., ICN) ; Bietenholz, Wolfgang (Mexico U., ICN) ; Cichy, Krzysztof (Frankfurt U. ; Mickiewicz U., Poznan) ; de Forcrand, Philippe (CERN ; Zurich, ETH) ; Dromard, Arthur (Regensburg U.) ; Gerber, Urs (IFM-UMSNH, Michoacan ; Mexico U., ICN) ; Sandoval, Ilya Orson (Mexico U., ICN)
We study the impact of the Gradient Flow on the topology in various models of lattice field theory. The topological susceptibility $\chi_{\rm t}$ is measured directly, and by the slab method, which is based on the topological content of sub-volumes ("slabs") and estimates $\chi_{\rm t}$ even when the system remains trapped in a fixed topological sector. Space charge effects on the third order coupled resonance / Franchetti, Giuliano (Darmstadt, GSI ; Frankfurt U.) ; Gilardoni, Simone (CERN) ; Huschauer, Alexander (CERN) ; Schmidt, Frank (CERN) ; Wasef, Raymond (Frankfurt U. ; CERN)
The effect of space charge on bunched beams has been the subject of numerous numerical and experimental studies in the first decade of 2000. Experimental campaigns performed at the CERN Proton Synchrotron in 2002 and at the GSI SIS18 in 2008 confirmed the existence of an underlying mechanism in the beam dynamics of periodic resonance crossing induced by the synchrotron motion and space charge. 3D parton imaging of the nucleon in high-energy p p and p A collisions / Frankfurt, L ; Strikman, M I ; Weiss, C
We discuss several examples of how the transverse spatial distribution of partons in the nucleon, as well as multiparton correlations, can be probed by observing hard processes (dijets) in high-energy pp(pp) and pA(dA) collisions. Such studies can complement the information gained from measurements of hard exclusive processes in ep scattering. [...]
