Branes, quiver gauge theories and discrete symmetries / Rogers, Jamie (speaker) (Liverpool University)
The spaces of zero-energy configurations (moduli spaces of vacua) of supersymmetric QFTs are richly geometrically structured. Realizing quiver gauge theories as the IR descriptions of brane configurations has allowed the recent development of numerous techniques to examine this geometry. [...]

Using proton-proton collision data collected by the LHCb experiment at $\sqrt{s} =$ 7 TeV, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 1.0 fb$^{-1}$, the ratio of branching fractions of the $B^{0}\rightarrow D^{*-}\pi^{+}\pi^{-}\pi^{+}$ decay relative to the $B^{0} \rightarrow D^{*-}\pi^{+}$ decay is measured to be \begin{equation*} \frac{\mathcal{B}(B^{0}\rightarrow D^{*-}\pi^{+}\pi^{-}\pi^{+})}{\mathcal{B}(B^{0} \rightarrow D^{*-}\pi^{+})} = 2.64 \pm 0.04\,(\text{stat.}) \pm 0.13\,(\text{syst.})\, . \label{eq:CF_BF_ratio_result} \end{equation*} The Cabibbo-suppressed decay $B^{0}\rightarrow D^{*-}K^{+}\pi^{-}\pi^{+}$ is observed for the first time and the measured ratio of branching fractions is \begin{equation*} \frac{\mathcal{B}(B^{0}\rightarrow D^{*-}K^{+}\pi^{-}\pi^{+})}{\mathcal{B}(B^{0} \rightarrow D^{*-}\pi^{+}\pi^{-}\pi^{+})} = (6.47 \pm 0.37\,(\text{stat.}) \pm 0.35\,(\text{syst.})) \times 10^{-2} \label{eq:CS_BF_ratio_result}\, . Measurements of the branching fractions of $B^{+} \to p \bar{p} K^{+}$ decays / LHCb Collaboration
The branching fractions of the decay $B^{+} \to p \bar p K^{+}$ for different intermediate states are measured using data, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 1.0 fb$^{-1}$, collected by the LHCb experiment. The total branching fraction, its charmless component $(M_{p\bar p} <2.85 $ $ GeV/c^{2})$ and the branching fractions via the resonant $c\bar c$ states $\eta_{c}(1S)$ and $\psi(2S)$ relative to the decay via a $J/\psi$ intermediate state are \begin{align*} \frac{{\mathcal B}(B^{+} \to p \bar p K^{+})_{total}}{{\mathcal B}(B^{+} \to J/\psi K^{+} \to p \bar p K^{+})}=& \, 4.91 \pm 0.19 \, {(\rm stat)} \pm 0.14 \, {(\rm syst)},\\ \frac{{\mathcal B}(B^{+} \to p \bar p K^{+})_{M_{p\bar p} <2.85 {GeV/}c^{2}}}{{\mathcal B}(B^{+} \to J/\psi K^{+} \to p \bar p K^{+})}=& \, 2.02 \pm 0.10 \, {(\rm stat)}\pm 0.08 \, {(\rm syst)},\\ \frac{{\mathcal B} (B^{+} \to \eta_{c}(1S) K^{+} \to p \bar p K^{+})}{{\mathcal B}(B^{+} \to J/\psi K^{+} \to p \bar p K^{+})} = & \, 0.578 \pm 0.035 \, {(\rm stat)} \pm 0.027 \, {(\rm syst)},\\ \frac{{\mathcal B} (B^{+} \to \psi(2S) K^{+} \to p \bar p K^{+})}{{\mathcal B}(B^{+} \to J/\psi K^{+} \to p \bar p K^{+})}=& \, 0.080 \pm 0.012 \, {(\rm stat)} \pm 0.009 \, {(\rm syst)}.\\ \end{align*} Upper limits on the $B^{+}$ branching fractions into the $\eta_{c}(2S)$ meson and into the charmonium-like states $X(3872)$ and $X(3915)$ are also obtained..

Search for rare $B^0_{(s)}\rightarrow \mu^+ \mu^- \mu^+ \mu^-$ decays / LHCb Collaboration
A search for the decays $B^0_{s}\rightarrow \mu^+ \mu^- \mu^+ \mu^-$ and $B^0 \rightarrow \mu^+ \mu^- \mu^+ \mu^-$ is performed using data, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 1.0 fb$^{-1}$, collected with the LHCb detector in 2011. The number of candidates observed is consistent with the expected background and, assuming phase-space models of the decays, limits on the branching fractions are set: ${\cal B}(B^0_{s}\rightarrow \mu^+ \mu^- \mu^+ \mu^-) < 1.6 \ (1.2) \times 10^{-8}$ and ${\cal B}(B^0 \rightarrow \mu^+ \mu^- \mu^+ \mu^-)< 6.6 \ (5.3) \times 10^{-9}$ at 95% (90%) confidence level. Measurement of the $\Lambda_b^0$, $\Xi_b^-$ and $\Omega_b^-$ baryon masses / LHCb Collaboration
Bottom baryons decaying to a $J/\psi$ meson and a hyperon are reconstructed using $\rm 1.0~fb^{-1}$ of data collected in 2011 with the LHCb detector. Significant $\Lambda_b^0 \rightarrow J/\psi \Lambda$, $\Xi_b^-\rightarrow J/\psi \Xi^-$ and $\Omega_b^- \rightarrow J/\psi \Omega^-$ signals are observed and the corresponding masses are measured to be \begin{eqnarray} M(\Lambda_b^0) = 5619.53 \pm 0.13 (stat) \pm 0.45 (syst) MeV/c^2, \cr M(\Xi_b^-) = 5795.8 \pm 0.9 (stat) \pm 0.4 (syst) MeV/c^2, \cr M(\Omega_b^-) = 6046.0 \pm 2.2 (stat) \pm 0.5 (syst) MeV/c^2,\end{eqnarray} while the diffierences with respect to the $\Lambda_b^0$ mass are \begin{eqnarray} M(\Xi_b^-) - M(\Lambda_b^0) = 176.2 \pm 0.9 (stat) \pm 0.1 (syst) MeV/c^2, \cr M(\Omega_b^-) - M(\Lambda_b^0) = 426.4 \pm 2.2 (stat) \pm 0.4 (syst) MeV/c^2.\end{eqnarray} These are the most precise mass measurements of the $\Lambda_b^0$, $\Xi_b^-$ and $\Omega_b^-$ baryons to date. Exclusive J/$\psi$ and $\psi$(2S) production in $pp$ collisions at $\sqrt{s} = 7$ TeV / LHCb Collaboration
Exclusive $J/\psi$ and $\psi(2S)$ vector meson production has been observed in the dimuon channel using the LHCb detector. The cross-section times branching fractions to two muons with pseudorapidities between 2.0 and 4.5 are measured to be \begin{equation*} \sigma_{pp\rightarrow J/\psi (\rightarrow \mu^{+} \mu^{-})} (2.0 <\eta_{\mu^{\pm}}< 4.5) = 307 \pm 21 \pm 36~\text{pb}, \end{equation*} \begin{equation*} \sigma_{pp\rightarrow \psi(2S) (\rightarrow \mu^{+} \mu^{-})} (2.0 <\eta_{\mu^{\pm}}< 4.5) = 7.8 \pm 1.3 \pm 1.0~\text{pb}, \end{equation*} where the first uncertainties are statistical and the second are systematic.
