Providing large-scale disk storage at CERN / Rousseau, Hervé (CERN) ; Chan Kwok Cheong, Belinda (CERN) ; Contescu, Cristian (CERN) ; Espinal Curull, Xavier (CERN) ; Iven, Jan (CERN) ; Gonzalez Labrador, Hugo (CERN) ; Lamanna, Massimo (CERN) ; Lo Presti, Giuseppe (CERN) ; Mascetti, Luca (CERN) ; Moscicki, Jakub (CERN) et al.
The CERN IT Storage group operates multiple distributed storage systems and is responsible for the support of the infrastructure to accommodate all CERN storage requirements, from the physics data generated by LHC and non-LHC experiments to the personnel users’ files. EOS is now the key component of the CERN Storage strategy. [...]

IPv6 in production: its deployment and usage in WLCG / Babik, Marian (CERN) ; Bly, Martin (Rutherford) ; Chown, Tim (Unlisted, UK) ; Chudoba, Jiři (Prague, Inst. The fraction of general internet traffic carried over IPv6 continues to grow rapidly. The transition of WLCG central and storage services to dual-stack IPv4/IPv6 is progressing well, thus enabling the use of IPv6-only CPU resources as agreed by the WLCG Management Board and presented by us at CHEP2016. Understanding the Performance of a Prototype of a WLCG Data Lake for HL-LHC / Schovancová, Jaroslava (CERN) ; Campana, Simone (CERN) ; Espinal Curull, Xavier (CERN) ; Girone, Maria (CERN) ; Kadochnikov, Ivan (Dubna, JINR) ; McCance, Gavin John (CERN)
Storage is identified as one of the main challenges for WLCG in the next decade in the computing strategy document for HL-LHC [1]. Extrapolating todays computing models, the ATLAS and CMS experiments alone would need one order of magnitude more storage resources than what could be provided by the funding agencies. [...]

Measurement of the centrality dependence of the charged-particle pseudorapidity distribution in proton--lead collisions at $\sqrt{s_{_\text{NN}}} = 5.02$ TeV with the ATLAS detector / ATLAS Collaboration
The centrality dependence of the mean charged-particle multiplicity as a function of pseudorapidity is measured in approximately 1 $\mu$b$^{-1}$ of proton--lead collisions at a nucleon--nucleon centre-of-mass energy of $\sqrt{s_{_\text{NN}}} = 5.02$ TeV using the ATLAS detector at the Large Hadron Collider. Charged particles with absolute pseudorapidity less than 2.7 are reconstructed using the ATLAS pixel detector. [...]

Streamlining CASTOR to manage the LHC data torrent / Lo Presti, Giuseppe (CERN) ; Espinal Curull, Xavier (CERN) ; Cano, E (CERN) ; Fiorini, B (CERN) ; Ieri, A (CERN) ; Murray, S (CERN) ; Ponce, S (CERN) ; Sindrilaru, E (CERN)
This contribution describes the evolution of the main CERN storage system, CASTOR, as it manages the bulk data stream of the LHC and other CERN experiments, achieving over 90 PB of stored data by the end of LHC Run 1. This evolution was marked by the introduction of policies to optimize the tape sub-system throughput, going towards a cold storage system where data placement is managed by the experiments' production managers. Measurement of the cross-section of high transverse momentum vector bosons reconstructed as single jets and studies of jet substructure in $pp$ collisions at ${\sqrt{s}}$ = 7 TeV with the ATLAS detector / ATLAS Collaboration
This paper presents a measurement of the cross-section for high transverse momentum $W$ and $Z$ bosons produced in $pp$ collisions and decaying to all-hadronic final states. The data used in the analysis were recorded by the ATLAS detector at the CERN Large Hadron Collider at a centre-of-mass energy of $\sqrt{s}=7~\rm TeV$ and correspond to an integrated luminosity of $4.6~\rm fb^{-1}$. Jet energy measurement and its systematic uncertainty in proton-proton collisions at $\sqrt{s}$=7 TeV with the ATLAS detector / ATLAS Collaboration
The jet energy scale (JES) and its systematic uncertainty are determined for jets measured with the ATLAS detector using proton-proton collision data with a centre-of-mass energy of $\sqrt{s}=7$ TeV corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 4.7 fb$^{-1}$. Jets are reconstructed from energy deposits forming topological clusters of calorimeter cells using the anti-k$_t$ algorithm with distance parameters $R=0.4$ or $R=0.6$, and are calibrated using MC simulations. Measurement of $\chi_{c1}$ and $\chi_{c2}$ production with $\sqrt{s}=7$ TeV $pp$ collisions at ATLAS / ATLAS Collaboration
The prompt and non-prompt production cross-sections for the $\chi_{c1}$ and $\chi_{c2}$ charmonium states are measured in $pp$ collisions at $\sqrt{s}=7$ TeV with the ATLAS detector at the LHC using 4.5 fb-1 of integrated luminosity. The $\chi_{c}$ states are reconstructed through the radiative decay $\chi_{c}\rightarrow J/\psi\,\gamma$ (with $J/\psi\rightarrow\mu^{+}\mu^{-}$) where photons are reconstructed from $\gamma\rightarrow e^{+}e^{-}$ conversions. Muon reconstruction efficiency and momentum resolution of the ATLAS experiment in proton–proton collisions at $\sqrt{s}=7$ TeV in 2010 / ATLAS Collaboration
This paper presents a study of the performance of the muon reconstruction in the analysis of proton--proton collisions at $\sqrt{s}=7$ TeV at the LHC, recorded by the ATLAS detector in 2010. This performance is described in terms of reconstruction and isolation efficiencies and momentum resolutions for different classes of reconstructed muons. [...]

The differential production cross section of the $\phi$(1020) meson in $\sqrt{s}$ = 7 TeV pp collisions measured with the ATLAS Detector / ATLAS Collaboration
A measurement is presented of the $\phi ➝ K^+K^−$ production cross section at √s = 7 TeV using pp collision data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 383 μb$^{−1}$ collected with the ATLAS experiment at the LHC. Selection of $\phi$(1020) mesons is based on the identification of charged kaons by their energy loss in the pixel detector. [...]
