A characterization of radiophotoluminescence (RPL) dosimeters at high doses of X-ray radiation for applications in high-radiation areas is presented. Commercial FD-7 silver-doped phosphate glasses (1.5$\times$ 8.5mm) in use at CERN for passive dosimetry are irradiated using commercial X-ray tubes. [...]

Radio Pharmaceutical Therapy (RPT) comes forth as a promising technique to treat a wide range of tumors while ensuring low collateral damage to nearby healthy tissues. This kind of cancer therapy exploits the radiation following the decay of a specific radionuclide to deliver a lethal dose to tumor tissues. [...]

The Isotope Separation On-Line (ISOL) technique is today established as one of the primary methods to produce high-intensity and high-quality radioactive beams. This technique produces, for a given amount of the desired isotope, many orders of magnitude of other radioactive species. [...]

A study of the residual activation of the Front-End system structure of the SPES (Selective Production of Exotic Species) facility, currently under construction at the Legnaro National Laboratories of INFN, Italy, is performed. The study provides useful information for the planning of inspections, maintenance operations and decommissioning of the facility as well as for the assessment of radiological conditions and safety requirements in the design and operation of any accelerator-driven radioactive ion beam facility. The $\pi^+ \pi^ -\pi^0$, $K^+ K^- \pi^0$ and $K^\pm K^0 \pi^\mp$ final states produced by $\bar p p$ annihilation at rest at three different hydrogen target densities have been analyzed in the frame of a coupled channel analysis together with $\pi \pi$, $\pi K$ and $K \bar K$ scattering data. The percentages of the different partial waves, the branching ratios and the parameters (masses, widths, $\pi \pi$ and $K \bar K$ partial widths) of all the involved resonances ($J^P = 0^+, 1^-, 2^+$) have been measured. Exploring the WEP with a pulsed cold beam of antihydrogen
/ AEGIS Collaboration
The AEGIS experiment, currently being set up at the Antiproton Decelerator at CERN, has the objective of studying the free fall of antimatter in the Earths gravitational field by means of a pulsed cold atomic beam of antihydrogen atoms. Both duration of free fall and vertical displacement of the horizontally emitted atoms will be measured, allowing a first test of the WEP with antimatter..

Dynamical selection rules from $\overline{p}p$ annihilation at rest in three meson final states
/ OBELIX Collaboration
The hadronic annihilation branching-ratios in quasi-two-body final states have been obtained from the observation of the reactions pp to pi /sup +/ pi /sup -/ pi /sup 0/, K/sup +/K/sup -/ pi /sup 0/, K/sup +or-/ pi -or+K/sup 0/ at rest in hydrogen targets at different densities. The enhancement or suppression of specific hadronic channels connected to dynamical selection rules is observed in the production of different resonances both in protonium S and P-waves, systematically investigated for the first time. $\overline{p}p$ annihilation into four charged pions at rest and in flight
/ OBELIX Collaboration
The spin-parity analysis of the data on the pp to 2 pi /sup +/ 2 pi /sup $/annihilation reaction at rest in liquid and in gaseous hydrogen at 3 bar pressure and in flight at p momentum of approximately= 50 MeV/c, collected by the Obelix spectrometer at the LEAR complex of CERN, is presented. The relative branching ratios (a /sub 1/ (1260) to sigma pi )/(a/sub 1/(1260) to rho pi ) = 0.06 +or- 0.05 and ( pi (1300) to sigma pi )/( pi (1300) to rho pi ) = 2.2 +or- 0.4 are obtained. [...]
