The Pixel Luminosity Telescope: A detector for luminosity measurement at CMS using silicon pixel sensors / CMS BRIL Collaboration
The Pixel Luminosity Telescope is a silicon pixel detector dedicated to luminosity measurement at the CMS experiment at the LHC. It is located approximately 1.75 m from the interaction point and arranged into 16 "telescopes", with eight telescopes installed around the beam pipe at either end of the detector and each telescope composed of three individual silicon sensor planes. [...]

Precision luminosity measurement in proton-proton collisions at $\sqrt{s} =$ 13 TeV in 2015 and 2016 at CMS / CMS Collaboration
The measurement of the luminosity recorded by the CMS detector installed at LHC interaction point 5, using proton-proton collisions at $\sqrt{s}= $ 13 TeV in 2015 and 2016, is reported. The absolute luminosity scale is measured for individual bunch crossings using beam-separation scans (the van der Meer method), with a relative precision of 1.2% and 1.0% in 2015 and 2016, respectively. A New Boson with a Mass of 125 GeV Observed with the CMS Experiment at the Large Hadron Collider / CMS Collaboration
The Higgs boson was postulated nearly five decades ago within the framework of the standard model of particle physics and has been the subject of numerous searches at accelerators around the world. Its discovery would verify the existence of a complex scalar field thought to give mass to three of the carriers of the electroweak force—the W+, W–, and Z0 bosons—as well as to the fundamental quarks and leptons. Observation of a new boson at a mass of 125 GeV with the CMS experiment at the LHC / CMS Collaboration
Results are presented from searches for the standard model Higgs boson in proton-proton collisions at $\sqrt{s}$=7 and 8 TeV in the CMS experiment at the LHC, using data samples corresponding to integrated luminosities of up to 5.1 inverse femtobarns at 7 TeV and 5.3 inverse femtobarns at 8 TeV. The search is performed in five decay modes: $\gamma\gamma$, ZZ, WW, $\tau^+ \tau^-$, and $b\bar{b}$. [...]

Persistent storage of non-event data in the CMS databases / De Gruttola, Michele (NAPOLI) ; Di Guida, Salvatore (WISCONSIN) ; Futyan, David (Imperial Coll., London) ; Glege, Frank (CERN) ; Govi, Giacomo (NORTHEASTERN) ; Innocente, Vincenzo (CERN) ; Paolucci, Pierluigi (NAPOLI) ; Picca, Pietro (MILANO-BICOCCA) ; Pierro, A ; Schlatter, D et al.
In the CMS experiment, the non event data needed to set up the detector, or being produced by it, and needed to calibrate the physical responses of the detector itself are stored in ORACLE databases. The large amount of data to be stored, the number of clients involved and the performance requirements make the database system an essential service for the experiment to run. [...]

B_s^0 Oscillation sensitivity study in CMS / Xie, Zhen ; Palla, Fabrizio ; Starodumov, Andrei
This note presents a study on the sensitivity range of B_s^0 mixing frequency x_s and the maximum value of x_s one can measure on the CMS detector. With a statistics of 10^4 pb^-1 about 4500 Bs->Dspi events are selected giving a sensitivity on x_s up to 48..

Evaluation of minimum number of signal events needed to measure the x_s mixing parameter / Starodumov, Andrei (ITEP, Moscow, Russia) ; Xie, Zhen (Pisa, Scuola Normale Superiore)
The evaluation of the minimum number of signal events needed to measure certain value of the mixing parameter x_s in the decay channel B_s^0 -> D_s pi^+ -> phi pi^- pi^+ -> K^+K^- pi^- pi^+ is presented. In the study momentum and flight path resolutions are taken into account. [...]
