Technical design report for the CODEX-$\beta$ demonstrator / CODEX-b Collaboration
The CODEX-$\beta$ apparatus is a demonstrator for the proposed future CODEX-b experiment, a long-lived-particle detector foreseen for operation at IP8 during HL-LHC data-taking. The demonstrator project, intended to collect data in 2025, is described, with a particular focus on the design, construction, and installation of the new apparatus..

The Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (LBNL) Superconducting Magnet Group has completed the design, fabrication and test of HD1, a 16 T block-coil dipole magnet. State of the art Nb$_3$Sn conductor was wound in double-layer racetrack coils and supported by an iron yoke and a tensioned aluminum shell. [...]

Coil manufacturing process of the first 1-m-long Canted–Cosine–Theta (CCT) model magnet at PSI / Montenero, Giuseppe (PSI, Villigen) ; Auchmann, Bernhard (CERN ; PSI, Villigen) ; Arbelaez, Diego (LBNL, Berkeley) ; Brouwer, Lucas (LBNL, Berkeley) ; Caspi, Shlomo (LBNL, Berkeley) ; Felder, Roland (PSI, Villigen) ; Lackner, Friedrich (CERN) ; Sanfilippo, Stephane (PSI, Villigen) ; Sidorov, Serguei (PSI, Villigen) ; Smekens, David (CERN) et al.
At the Paul Scherrer Institute (PSI), the Canted-Cosine-Theta (CCT) magnet program aims at demonstrating that CCT technology is a viable candidate for the development of 16-T dipole magnets, required for future circular colliders. The first step in this direction is the implementation of a Nb$_3$Sn 1-m-long, two-layer CCT single-aperture dipole, referred to as Canted Dipole One (CD1), which is designed to achieve a peak field in the bore of ~11 T. Characterisation of irradiated thin silicon sensors for the CMS phase II pixel upgrade / Adam, W (Vienna, OAW) ; Bergauer, T (Vienna, OAW) ; Brondolin, E (Vienna, OAW) ; Dragicevic, M (Vienna, OAW) ; Friedl, M (Vienna, OAW) ; Frühwirth, R (Vienna, OAW) ; Hoch, M (Vienna, OAW) ; Hrubec, J (Vienna, OAW) ; König, A (Vienna, OAW) ; Steininger, H (Vienna, OAW) et al. /Tracker Group
The high luminosity upgrade of the Large Hadron Collider, foreseen for 2026, necessitates the replacement of the CMS experiment’s silicon tracker. The innermost layer of the new pixel detector will be exposed to severe radiation, corresponding to a 1 MeV neutron equivalent fluence of up to $\Phi _{eq} = 2 \times 10^{16}$  cm$^{-2}$ , and an ionising dose of ${\approx } 5$  MGy after an integrated luminosity of 3000 fb$^{-1}$ . P-Type Silicon Strip Sensors for the new CMS Tracker at HL-LHC / Adam, W (Vienna, OAW) ; Bergauer, T (Vienna, OAW) ; Brondolin, E (Vienna, OAW) ; Dragicevic, M (Vienna, OAW) ; Friedl, M (Vienna, OAW) ; Frühwirth, R (Vienna, OAW) ; Hoch, M (Vienna, OAW) ; Hrubec, J (Vienna, OAW) ; König, A (Vienna, OAW) ; Steininger, H (Vienna, OAW) et al. /CMS
The upgrade of the LHC to the High-Luminosity LHC (HL-LHC) is expected to increase the LHC design luminosity by an order of magnitude. This will require silicon tracking detectors with a significantly higher radiation hardness. [...]

Measurement of the mass difference between top quark and antiquark in pp collisions at $\sqrt{s} = 8$ TeV / CMS Collaboration
The invariance of the standard model (SM) under the CPT transformation predicts equality of particle and antiparticle masses. This prediction is tested by measuring the mass difference between the top quark and antiquark (Delta m[t] = m[t] - m[t-bar]) that are produced in pp collisions at a center-of-mass energy of 8 TeV, using events with a muon or an electron and at least four jets in the final state. Production of leading charged particles and leading charged-particle jets at small transverse momenta in pp collisions at sqrt(s) = 8 TeV / CMS Collaboration
The per-event yield of the highest transverse momentum charged particle and charged-particle jet, integrated above a given $p_{\mathrm{T}}^{\mathrm{min}}$ threshold starting at $p_{\mathrm{T}}^{\mathrm{min}} = $ 0.8 and 1 GeV, respectively, is studied in PbPb collisions at $\sqrt{s} =$ 8 TeV. The particles and the jets are measured for absolute pseudorapidities lower than 2.4 and 1.9, respectively. [...]

Measurement of the differential cross section for top quark pair production in pp collisions at $\sqrt{s} =$ 8 TeV / CMS Collaboration
The normalized differential cross section for top quark pair ($ \mathrm{ t \bar{t} } $) production is measured in pp collisions at a centre-of-mass energy of 8 TeV at the CERN LHC using the CMS detector in data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 19.7 fb$^{-1}$. The measurements are performed in the lepton+jets (e/$ \mu $+jets) and in the dilepton (ee, $ \mu \mu $, and e$ \mu $) decay channels. [...]
