Precise predictions for boosted Higgs production / Becker, Kathrin (Freiburg U.) ; Caola, Fabrizio (Oxford U., Theor. Phys.) ; Massironi, Andrea (CERN ; INFN, Milan Bicocca) ; Mistlberger, Bernhard (MIT) ; Monni, Pier Francesco (CERN) ; Chen, Xuan (Zurich U.) ; Frixione, Stefano (INFN, Genoa) ; Gehrmann, Thomas (Zurich U.) ; Glover, Nigel (Durham U., IPPP) ; Hamilton, Keith (University Coll. Inclusive Higgs boson production at large transverse momentum is induced by different production channels. We focus on the leading production through gluon fusion, and perform a consistent combination of the state of the art calculations obtained in the infinite-top-mass effective theory at next-to-next-to-leading order (NNLO) and in the full Standard Model (SM) at next-to-leading order (NLO). Higgs boson cross sections for the high-energy and high-luminosity LHC: cross-section predictions and theoretical uncertainty projections / Calderon Tazon, Alicia (Universidad de Cantabria and CSIC (ES)) ; Caola, Fabrizio (University of Durham (GB)) ; Campbell, John (Fermilab (US)) ; Francavilla, Paolo (Universita & INFN Pisa (IT)) ; Marchiori, Giovanni (Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (FR)) ; Becker, Kathrin (Albert Ludwigs Universitaet Freiburg (DE)) ; Bertella, Claudia (Chinese Academy of Sciences (CN)) ; Bonvini, Marco (Sapienza Universita e INFN, Roma I (IT)) ; Chen, Xuan (Zuerich University (CH)) ; Frederix, Rikkert (Technische Universität Muenchen (DE)) et al.
This note summarizes the state-of-the-art predictions for the cross sections expected for Higgs boson production in the 27 TeV proton-proton collisions of a high-energy LHC, including a full theoretical uncertainty analysis. It also provides projections for the progress that may be expected on the timescale of the high-luminosity LHC and an assessment of the main limiting factors to further reduction of the remaining theoretical uncertainties..

The discovery of the Higgs boson in 2012, by the ATLAS and CMS experiments, was a success achieved with only a percent of the entire dataset foreseen for the LHC. It opened a landscape of possibilities in the study of Higgs boson properties, Electroweak Symmetry breaking and the Standard Model in general, as well as new avenues in probing new physics beyond the Standard Model. The successful operation of the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) and the excellent performance of the ATLAS, CMS, LHCb and ALICE detectors in Run-1 and Run-2 with $pp$ collisions at center-of-mass energies of 7, 8 and 13 TeV as well as the giant leap in precision calculations and modeling of fundamental interactions at hadron colliders have allowed an extraordinary breadth of physics studies including precision measurements of a variety physics processes. The LHC results have so far confirmed the validity of the Standard Model of particle physics up to unprecedented energy scales and with great precision in the sectors of strong and electroweak interactions as well as flavour physics, for instance in top quark physics. High-energy jets recoiling against missing transverse energy (MET) are powerful probes of dark matter at the LHC. Searches based on large MET signatures require a precise control of the $Z(\nu\bar\nu)+$jet background in the signal region. [...]

NLO QCD+EW predictions for $2\ell2\nu$ diboson signatures at the LHC / Kallweit, S. (CERN) ; Lindert, J.M. (Durham U., IPPP) ; Pozzorini, S. (Zurich U.) ; Schönherr, M. (Zurich U.)
We present next-to-leading order (NLO) calculations including QCD and electroweak (EW) corrections for $2\ell2\nu$ diboson signatures with two opposite-charge leptons and two neutrinos. Specifically, we study the processes $pp\to e^+ \mu^- \nu_{e}\bar\nu_{\mu}$ and $pp\to e^+ e^-\nu\bar\nu$, including all relevant off-shell diboson channels, $W^+W^-$, $ZZ$, $\gamma Z$, as well as non-resonant contributions.
