NNLO fits of top-quark mass using total, single-differential and double-differential $t\bar{t}+X$ cross-section data / Alekhin, S. ; Garzelli, M.V. ; Mazzitelli, J. ; Moch, S.-O. ; Zenaiev, O.
We describe the fits of the top-quark mass value at NNLO using as input the double-differential distributions in rapidity and invariant mass of $t\bar{t}$ pairs obtained by the ATLAS and CMS collaborations from unfolding of their experimental data to the parton level, compared to NNLO theory predictions. Taming a leading theoretical uncertainty in HH measurements via accurate simulations for $ \textrm{b}\overline{\textrm{b}}\textrm{H} $ production / Manzoni, Stefano (CERN) ; Mazzeo, Elena (Milan U.) ; Mazzitelli, Javier (PSI, Villigen) ; Wiesemann, Marius (Munich, Max Planck Inst.) ; Zaro, Marco (Milan U.)
We present a new simulation for Higgs boson production in association with bottom quarks ($b\bar{b}H$) at next-to-leading order (NLO) accuracy matched to parton showers in hadronic collisions. Both contributions, the standard one proportional to the bottom-quark Yukawa coupling and the loop-induced one proportional to the top-quark Yukawa coupling from the gluon-fusion process, are taken into account in a scheme with massive bottom quarks. [...]

Running of the top quark mass at NNLO in QCD / Defranchis, Matteo M. (CERN) ; Kieseler, Jan (CERN) ; Lipka, Katerina (Wuppertal U. ; DESY) ; Mazzitelli, Javier (Munich, Max Planck Inst.)
The running of the top quark mass ($m_\mathrm{t}$) is probed at the next-to-next-to-leading order (NNLO) in quantum chromodynamics (QCD) for the first time. The result is obtained by comparing calculations in the modified minimal subtraction ($\mathrm{\bar{MS}}$) renormalisation scheme to a differential measurement of the top quark-antiquark ($\mathrm{t\bar{t}}$) production cross section at $\sqrt{s} = 13~\mathrm{TeV}$. Top-pair production at the LHC with MiNNLO$_{\rm PS}$ / Mazzitelli, Javier (Munich, Max Planck Inst.) ; Monni, Pier Francesco (CERN) ; Nason, Paolo (INFN, Milan Bicocca) ; Re, Emanuele (INFN, Milan Bicocca ; Annecy, LAPTH) ; Wiesemann, Marius (Munich, Max Planck Inst.) ; Zanderighi, Giulia (Munich, Max Planck Inst. ; Tech. We consider the production of a pair of heavy quarks and illustrate the derivation of the MiNNLO method to match next-to-next-to-leading order calculations with parton showers (NNLO+PS) for this class of processes. As a first application, we construct an event generator for the fully differential simulation of hadronic top-quark pair production at NNLO+PS and discuss all details of its implementation in a parton shower Monte Carlo framework. Next-to-next-to-leading order event generation for top-quark pair production / Mazzitelli, Javier (Munich, Max Planck Inst.) ; Monni, Pier Francesco (CERN) ; Nason, Paolo (INFN, Milan Bicocca ; Milan Bicocca U.) ; Re, Emanuele (Annecy, LAPTH) ; Wiesemann, Marius (Munich, Max Planck Inst.) ; Zanderighi, Giulia (Munich, Max Planck Inst.)
The production of top-quark pairs in hadronic collisions is among the most important reactions in modern particle physics phenomenology and constitutes an instrumental avenue to study the properties of the heaviest quark observed in nature. The analysis of this process at the Large Hadron Collider relies heavily on Monte Carlo simulations of the final state events, whose accuracy is challenged by the outstanding precision of experimental measurements.
