The PSI positron production project

The PSI Positron Production experiment, known as $\text{P}^{3}$ or $\textit{P-cubed}$, is a proof-of-principle positron source and capture system that can greatly improve the state-of-the-art positron yield. The $\text{P}^{3}$ project is led by the Paul Scherrer Institute in Switzerland, and addresses the long-standing challenge faced by conventional injector facilities to generate, capture, and damp the emittance of high-current positron beam, which is a major limiting factor for the feasibility of future electron-positron colliders. Improving future designs by learning from radioactive waste-management experiences

As CERN operates its accelerator complex with a high-energy charged particle beam, the interaction of this beam with various systems designed to guide, shape, absorb and produce secondary particles, results in production of radioactive components and the activation of nearby equipment.
Consequently, the components need to be safely managed and handled once they are removed from the accelerator complex, either to store or safely and sustainably dispose them as waste. Host-state requirements dictate the specific packaging type, size, composition, and activity levels that these packages shall have.
Moreover, ALARA principles must be included in the design processes for new beam intercepting devices and target production areas, to reduce exposure of personnel to ionizing radiation and to optimally exploit these installations. [...]

Findings of the Physics Beyond Colliders ECN3 Beam Delivery Task Force

The ECN3 Beam Delivery Task Force was mandated by the PBC Study Group to assess the technical feasibility of increasing the proton beam intensity to the ECN3 hall of the North Area to satisfy the demands of a compelling set of PBC experimental physics proposals. This report summarises the findings of the Task Force that converge on a technically feasible solution with an implementation timeline that could exploit and build upon the investment already foreseen as part of Phase 1 of the NA-CONS project, and take the SPS complex into a new intensity frontier for Fixed Target physics in Run4..

The FCCee Pre-Injector Complex

The international FCC study group published in 2019 a Conceptual Design Report for an electron-positron collider with a centre-of-mass energy from 90 to 365 GeV with a beam currents of up to 1.4 A per beam. The high beam current of this collider create challenging requirements on the injection chain and all aspects of the linac need to be carefully reconsidered and revisited, including the injection time structure.
