QCD challenges from pp to AA collisions: 4th edition / Altmann, Javira (Monash U.) ; Andres, Carlota (Ecole Polytechnique, CPHT) ; Andronic, Anton (Munster U., ITP) ; Antinori, Federico (INFN, Padua) ; Antonioli, Pietro (INFN, Bologna ; Bologna U.) ; Beraudo, Andrea (INFN, Turin) ; Berti, Eugenio (INFN, Florence) ; Bianchi, Livio (INFN, Turin ; Turin U.) ; Boettcher, Thomas (Cincinnati U.) ; Capriotti, Lorenzo (Ferrara U.) et al.
This paper is a write-up of the ideas that were presented, developed and discussed at the fourth International Workshop on QCD Challenges from pp to AA, which took place in February 2023 in Padua, Italy. The goal of the workshop was to focus on some of the open questions in the field of high-energy heavy-ion physics and to stimulate the formulation of concrete suggestions for making progresses on both the experimental and theoretical sides. LHCf plan for proton-oxygen collisions at LHC / LHCf Collaboration
The LHCf experiment is designed to provide precise measurements of very forward neutral particle production from high energy proton-proton, proton-ion and ion-ion collisions. This information is necessary to test and tune hadronic interaction models used by ground-based cosmic rays experiments to extract the average composition of Ultra High Energy Cosmic Rays. [...]

Status and Prospects of the LHCf and RHICf experiments / LHCf Collaboration
Precise understanding of hadronic interactions at high energies is a key to improve mass composition measurements of very high energy cosmic-rays and to solve the muon excess issue observed in high energy cosmic-ray experiments using an air-shower technique. The LHCf and RHICf experiments measures the differential production cross sections of very forward neutral particle as photons, neutral pions and neutrons at LHC and RHIC, respectively. [...]

Very-forward $\pi^0$ production cross section in proton-proton collisions at $\sqrt {s}$ = 13 TeV measured with the LHCf experiment / LHCf Collaboration
The LHCf experiment, situated at the LHC accelerator, is composed of two independent detectors located at 140 metres from the ATLAS interaction point (IP1) on opposite sides along the beam axis. LHCf covers the pseudorapidity region above 8.4, with the capability to measure zero-degree neutral particles. [...]

Highlight: Forward Physics (LHCf + FASER) / Berti, Eugenio (INFN, Florence ; IFAC, Florence ; Florence U.) /LHCf Collaboration ; FASER Collaboration
The LHC Run III will be a crucial run for the two LHC forward experiments: LHCf and FASER. In particular, Run III will be the last run where the LHCf detector can operate and, at the same time, the first run of the new FASER project. [...]
