Recent developments in the point wise neutron treatment for FLUKA v4 / Vlachoudis, Vasilis (CERN) ; Devienne, Arnaud (CERN) ; Froeschl, Robert (CERN) ; Harbron, Richard William (CERN) ; Lorenzon, Tommaso (CERN) ; Pujol-Salvat, Francesc (CERN) ; Widorski, Markus (CERN) /FLUKA.CERN Collaboration
The present paper describes the new, original implementation of a point-wise neutron treatment that is made available with FLUKA v4.3-0 (https://fluka.cern). The development is based on the pre-processed neutron data libraries for Geant4 code (https://cern.ch/geant4). [...]

Ultra-Large Silicon Diode for Characterizing Low-Intensity Radiation Environments / Biłko, Kacper (CERN ; Jean Monnet U.) ; García Alía, Rubén (CERN) ; Girard, Sylvain (Jean Monnet U. ; IUF, Paris) ; Barbero, Mario Sacristan (CERN) ; Cecchetto, Matteo (CERN) ; Belanger-Champagne, Camille (TRIUMF) ; Brucoli, Matteo (CERN) ; Danzeca, Salvatore (CERN) ; Hands, Alex (CERN) ; Holgado, Pedro Martín (Seville U.) et al.
We present applications of a large commercial silicon diode (50 cm 2×500μm ) for monitoring low-intensity radiation fields, together with benchmarks via Monte Carlo simulations. After energy calibration with monoenergetic proton and alpha beams in the 2–8-MeV range, we show that the detector is capable of measuring atmospheric radiation at the ground level, not only in terms of a total number of events but also through their energy deposition distribution. LHC Oxygen Run Preparation in the CERN Injector Complex / Slupecki, Maciej (CERN) ; Aguglia, Davide (CERN) ; Aguiar, Ygor (Universite Jean Monnet (FR)) ; Alemany Fernandez, Reyes (CERN) ; Argyropoulos, Theodoros (CERN) ; Barlow, Roger Andrew (CERN) ; Bartosik, Hannes (CERN) ; Bellodi, Giulia (CERN) ; Bilko, Kacper (Universite Jean Monnet (FR)) ; Borburgh, Jan (CERN) et al.
The Ion Accelerator Complex, composed of a linear accelerator (Linac3) and a chain of synchrotrons (Low Energy Ion Ring: LEIR, Proton Synchrotron: PS, Super Proton Synchrotron: SPS and the Large Hadron Collider: LHC) will operate oxygen ion beams for Oxygen–Oxygen (O–O) and proton–Oxygen (p–O) collisions in the LHC in Run 3. New Operational Quantities for Radiation Protection by ICRU and ICRP: Impact on Workplaces at Accelerators / Otto, Thomas (CERN) ; Widorski, Markus (CERN)
In radiation protection, Effective Dose E quantifies stochastic radiation detriment. E is defined as a weighted sum of absorbed dose to organs and tissues and cannot be measured directly. [...]

Dark current analysis at CERN’s X-band facility / Banon Caballero, David (Valencia U., IFIC ; CERN) ; Boronat, Marça (Valencia U., IFIC ; CERN) ; Catalán Lasheras, Nuria (CERN) ; Faus-Golfe, Angeles (Orsay, LAL) ; Gimeno, Benito (Valencia U., IFIC) ; Lucas, Thomas (Melbourne U. ; CERN) ; Millar, William (Lancaster U. ; CERN) ; Paszkiewicz, Jan (U. Oxford (main) ; CERN) ; Pitman, Sam (CERN) ; Sánchez, Victoria (Valencia U., IFIC ; CERN) et al.
Dark current is particularly relevant during operation in high-gradient linear accelerators. Resulting from the capture of field emitted electrons, dark current produces additional radiation that needs to be accounted for in experiments. [...]
