Development of next generation muon beams at the Paul Scherrer Institute
/ Iwai, Ryoto (Zurich, ETH) ; Antognini, Aldo (CERN ; Zurich, ETH) ; Ayres, Nicholas ; Bao, Yu ; Belosevic, Ivana ; Bondar, Vira ; Eggenberger, Andreas ; Hildebrandt, Malte ; Kaplan, Daniel M ; Kettle, Peter R et al.
The Paul Scherrer Institute (PSI) provides the world's highest intensity muon beam of $\mathcal{O}(10^{8})\,\mu^{+}/$s at 28$\,$MeV/c. The HiMB project aims to improve this rate by two orders of magnitude. [...]

Commissioning experience and beam physics measurements at the SwissFEL Injector test Facility
/ Schietinger, T. (PSI, Villigen) ; Pedrozzi, M. (PSI, Villigen) ; Aiba, M. (PSI, Villigen) ; Arsov, V. (PSI, Villigen) ; Bettoni, S. (PSI, Villigen) ; Beutner, B. (PSI, Villigen) ; Calvi, M. (PSI, Villigen) ; Craievich, P. (PSI, Villigen) ; Dehler, M. (PSI, Villigen) ; Frei, F. (PSI, Villigen) et al.
The SwissFEL Injector Test Facility operated at the Paul Scherrer Institute between 2010 and 2014, serving as a pilot plant and test bed for the development and realization of SwissFEL, the x-ray Free Electron Laser facility under construction at the same institute. The test facility consisted of a laser-driven rf electron gun followed by an S-band booster linac, a magnetic bunch compression chicane and a diagnostic section including atransverse deflecting rf cavity. The proposed trigger-less TBit/s readout for the Mu3e experiment
/ Bachmann, S (Kirchhoff Inst. Phys. ; CERN) ; Berger, N. (Kirchhoff Inst. Phys.) ; Blondel, A. (CERN ; Geneva U.) ; Bravar, S. (CERN ; Geneva U.) ; Buniatyan, A. (Kirchhoff Inst. The Mu3e experiment searches for charged lepton flavor violation in the rare decay μ→eee with a projected sensitivity of 10−16. A precise measurement of the decay product momenta, decay vertex and time is necessary for background suppression at rates of 109 muons/s. [...]

A precise measurement of the pion beta decay rate
/ Ritt, S (Virginia Univ, Charlottesville, VA, USA)
The PIBETA project at PSI, Switzerland, is a program of measurements with the aim of making a precise determination of the pi /sup +/ to pi /sup 0/e/sup +/ nu /sub e ( pi beta ) decay rate, which provides a new constraint on the Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Masakava matrix element V/sub ud/. The PIBETA decay is measured with a stopped pion beam and normalized to pi /sup +/ to e/sup +/ nu events. [...]
