/ATF2 Collaboration
The ATF2-3 beamline is the only facility in the world for testing the Final Focus Beamline of linear colliders and is essential for the ILC and the CLIC projects. A vertical electron beam size of 41 nm (within 10% of the target), a closed-loop intra-bunch feedback of latency 133 ns, and direct stabilization of the beam position at the Interaction Point to 41 nm (limited by IP BPM resolution) have all been achieved at ATF2. Crab Cavities for ILC
/ McIntosh, Peter (Daresbury ; Cockcroft Inst. Accel. Sci. Tech.) ; Belomestnykh, Sergey (Fermilab) ; Burt, Graeme (Lancaster U. ; Cockcroft Inst. Accel. Sci. Tech.) ; Calaga, Rama (CERN) ; De Silva, Subashini (Jefferson Lab ; Old Dominion U. For the 14 mrad crossing angle proposed, crab cavity systems are fundamentally anticipated for the viable operation of the International Linear Collider (ILC), in order to maximise its luminosity performance. Since 2021, a specialist development team have been defining optimum crab cavity technologies which can fulfil the operational requirements for ILC, both for its baseline centre-of-mass energy of 250 GeV, but also extending those requirements out to higher beam collision intensities. Tunability Study of the Ultra-Low β* Optics at ATF2 with New Octupole Setup and Tuning Knobs
/ Pastushenko, Andrii (CERN ; IJCLab, Orsay) ; Faus-Golfe, Ángeles (IJCLab, Orsay) ; Kubo, Kiyoshi (KEK, Tsukuba) ; Kuroda, Shigeru (KEK, Tsukuba) ; Naito, Takashi (KEK, Tsukuba) ; Okugi, Toshiyuki (KEK, Tsukuba) ; Terunuma, Nobuhiro (KEK, Tsukuba) ; Tomás García, Rogelio (CERN) ; Yang, Renjun (KEK, Tsukuba)
The main goal of the Accelerator Test Facility 2 (ATF2) is to demonstrate the feasibility of future linear colliders’ final focus systems. The Ultra-low β^{*} optics of ATF2 is designed to have the same chromaticity level as CLIC. [...]

A Sub-Micron Resolution, Bunch-by-Bunch Beam Trajectory Feedback System and Its Application to Reducing Wakefield Effects in Single-Pass Beamlines
/ Bett, Douglas R (Oxford U.) ; Burrows, Philip N (Oxford U.) ; Kubo, Kiyoshi (KEK, Tsukuba) ; Okugi, Toshiyuki (KEK, Tsukuba) ; Perry, Colin (Oxford U.) ; Ramjiawan, Rebecca (Oxford U.) ; Terunuma, Nobuhiro (KEK, Tsukuba)
A high-precision intra-bunch-train beam orbit feedback correction system has been developed and tested at the KEK Accelerator Test Facility, ATF2. The system uses the vertical position of the bunch measured at two beam position monitors to calculate a pair of kicks which are applied to the next bunch using two upstream kickers, thereby correcting both the vertical position and trajectory angle. Momentum bandwidth of the KEK Accelerator Test Facility 2
/ Yang, R (CERN) ; Pastushenko, A (CERN ; IJCLab, Orsay) ; Cilento, V (CERN ; IJCLab, Orsay) ; Kubo, K (KEK, Tsukuba ; Sokendai, Tsukuba) ; Naito, T (KEK, Tsukuba ; Sokendai, Tsukuba) ; Okugi, T (KEK, Tsukuba ; Sokendai, Tsukuba) ; Terunuma, N (KEK, Tsukuba ; Sokendai, Tsukuba) ; Tomás, R (CERN)
Momentum bandwidth is an important characteristic for final focus systems (FFS) of future high-energy colliders. A large momentum bandwidth is a notable feature of the novel local-chromaticity-correction FFS, being demonstrated at the KEK Accelerator Test Facility 2 (ATF2), owing to the locality of chromaticity correction. Tuning the ultralow $β^*$ optics at the KEK Accelerator Test Facility 2
/ Yang, R (CERN) ; Pastushenko, A (CERN ; Orsay) ; Aryshev, A (KEK, Tsukuba ; Sokendai, Tsukuba) ; Bergamaschi, M (CERN) ; Cilento, V (CERN ; Orsay) ; Faus-Golfe, A (Orsay) ; Fukuda, M (KEK, Tsukuba ; Sokendai, Tsukuba) ; Korysko, P (CERN) ; Kubo, K (KEK, Tsukuba ; Sokendai, Tsukuba) ; Kuroda, S (KEK, Tsukuba ; Sokendai, Tsukuba) et al.
For future linear colliders, a nanometer-scale beam size at the interaction point (IP) is one of the most challenging technical aspects. To explore the feasibility of a final focus system with a high chromaticity level, comparable to that of the Compact Linear Collider, the ultralow β* optics has been proposed and tuned at the KEK Accelerator Test Facility 2.
