The PSI Positron Production experiment, known as $\text{P}^{3}$ or $\textit{P-cubed}$, is a proof-of-principle positron source and capture system that can greatly improve the state-of-the-art positron yield. The $\text{P}^{3}$ project is led by the Paul Scherrer Institute in Switzerland, and addresses the long-standing challenge faced by conventional injector facilities to generate, capture, and damp the emittance of high-current positron beam, which is a major limiting factor for the feasibility of future electron-positron colliders. Selected advances in the accelerator design of the Future Circular Electron-Positron Collider (FCC-ee) / FCC Collaboration
In autumn 2023, the FCC Feasibility Study underwent a crucial “mid-term review”. We describe some accelerator performance risks for the proposed future circular electron-positron collider, FCC-ee, identified for, and during, the mid-term review. [...]

High-Power Test of Two Prototype X-Band Accelerating Structures Based on SwissFEL Fabrication Technology / Millar, William L (CERN) ; Grudiev, Alexej (CERN) ; Wuensch, Walter (CERN) ; Lasheras, Nuria Catalan (CERN) ; McMonagle, Gerard (CERN) ; Zennaro, Riccardo (PSI, Villigen) ; Craievich, Paolo (PSI, Villigen) ; Bopp, Markus (PSI, Villigen) ; Lucas, Thomas G (PSI, Villigen) ; Volpi, Matteo (CERN ; Melbourne U.) et al.
This article presents the design, construction, and high-power test of two X -band radio frequency (RF) accelerating structures built as part of a collaboration between CERN and the Paul Scherrer Institute (PSI) for the compact linear collider (CLIC) study. The structures are a modified “tuning-free” variant of an existing CERN design and were assembled using Swiss free electron laser (SwissFEL) production methods. [...]

Optimisation of the FCC-ee Positron Source Using a HTS Solenoid Matching Device / Zhao, Yongke (CERN) ; Auchmann, Bernhard (PSI, Villigen) ; Chaikovska, Iryna (IJCLab, Orsay) ; Chehab, Robert (IJCLab, Orsay) ; Craievich, Paolo (PSI, Villigen) ; Döbert, Steffen (CERN) ; Duda, Michal (Cracow, INP) ; Kosse, Jaap (PSI, Villigen) ; Latina, Andrea (CERN) ; Martyshkin, Pavel (Novosibirsk, IYF) et al.
In this paper, we present the simulation and optimisation of the FCC-ee positron source, where a high-temperature superconducting (HTS) solenoid is used as the matching device to collect positrons from the target. The "conventional" target scheme is used which simply consists of amorphous tungsten. [...]

The international FCC study group published in 2019 a Conceptual Design Report for an electron-positron collider with a centre-of-mass energy from 90 to 365 GeV with a beam currents of up to 1.4 A per beam. The high beam current of this collider create challenging requirements on the injection chain and all aspects of the linac need to be carefully reconsidered and revisited, including the injection time structure.
