Absorbing discretization effects with a massive renormalization scheme: The charm-quark mass / Del Debbio, Luigi (Edinburgh U.) ; Erben, Felix (CERN) ; Flynn, Jonathan M. (Southampton U.) ; Mukherjee, Rajnandini (Southampton U.) ; Tsang, J. Tobias (CERN) /RBC Collaboration ; UKQCD Collaboration
We present the first numerical implementation of the massive SMOM (mSMOM) renormalization scheme and use it to calculate the charm quark mass. Based on ensembles with three flavours of dynamical domain wall fermions with lattice spacings in the range 0.11 -- 0.08 fm, we demonstrate that the mass scale which defines the mSMOM scheme can be chosen such that the extrapolation has significantly smaller discretisation effects than the SMOM scheme. Kaon mixing beyond the standard model with physical masses / Boyle, Peter A. (Brookhaven ; Edinburgh U.) ; Erben, Felix (CERN) ; Flynn, Jonathan M. (Southampton U.) ; Garron, Nicolas (Liverpool U. ; Liverpool U., Dept. Math.) ; Kettle, Julia (Edinburgh U.) ; Mukherjee, Rajnandini (Southampton U.) ; Tsang, J. Tobias (CERN) /RBC Collaboration ; UKQCD Collaboration
We present non-perturbative results for beyond the standard model kaon mixing matrix elements in the isospin symmetric limit ($m_u=m_d$) of QCD, including a complete estimate of all dominant sources of systematic error. Our results are obtained from numerical simulations of lattice QCD with $N_f = 2+1$ flavours of dynamical domain wall fermions. [...]

Charm quark mass using a massive nonperturbative renormalisation scheme / Del Debbio, Luigi (Piemonte Orientale U., Alessandria ; INFN, Turin) ; Erben, Felix (CERN) ; Flynn, Jonathan (Southampton U.) ; Mukherjee, Rajnandini (Southampton U.) ; Tsang, J. Tobias (CERN)
We present a first numerical implementation of a massive nonperturbative renormalisation scheme, RI/mSMOM, in the study of heavy quarks using the domain-wall fermion action. In particular, we calculate renormalisation constants for fermion bilinears at non-vanishing heavy-quark masses and compare the approach to the continuum of the renormalised charm-quark mass with that from a mass-independent scheme..

Towards the super Yang-Mills spectrum at large $N_c$ / Martins, Sofie (Odense U.) ; Della Morte, Michele (Odense U.) ; Jäger, Benjamin (Odense U.) ; Tsang, Justus Tobias (CERN) ; Ziegler, Felix Paul Gerhard (Edinburgh U.)
We examine one-flavour $SU(N_c)$ gauge theories, where $N_c$ denotes the number of colors, with one fermion in the antisymmetric representation as a candidate to approximate $\mathcal{N}=1$ super Yang Mills due to their equivalence in the large-$N_c$ limit. Summarising results on spectral evaluations of $N_c=3$, we will report on the progress of dynamical calculations for $N_c>3$. [...]

B-physics from Lattice Gauge Theory / Tsang, J. Tobias (CERN) ; Della Morte, Michele (Odense U.)
We discuss the main issues in dealing with heavy quarks on the lattice and shortly present the different approaches used. We discuss a selection of computations covering first the b-quark mass and the B(s) meson decay constants as the consolidated results (neglecting isospin breaking corrections). [...]

We compute the spectrum of the low-lying mesonic states with vector, scalar and pseudoscalar quantum numbers in QCD with one flavour. With three colours the fundamental and the two-index anti-symmetric representations of the gauge group coincide. [...]

LapH interpolating fields with open boundary conditions / Della Morte, Michele (Southern Denmark U., CP3-Origins) ; Francesconi, Olmo (Southern Denmark U., CP3-Origins) ; Tsang, Justus Tobias (CERN)
The stochastic Laplacian Heaviside (LapH) method has proven to be successful in hadronic calculations. In this work, with charm-light spectroscopy in mind, we set up and optimise the LapH procedure limiting ourselves to the evaluation of two-point mesonic correlation functions. [...]

We use one-flavour QCD ($N_c=3$) as a proxy to understand $\mathcal{N}=1$ SYM. For our simulations, we use tree-level improved Wilson fermions and Symanzik improved gauge action. [...]

Semileptonic $D \rightarrow \pi \ell \nu$, $D \rightarrow K \ell \nu$ and $D_s \rightarrow K \ell \nu$ decays with 2+1f domain wall fermions / Marshall, Michael (Edinburgh U.) ; Boyle, Peter (Brookhaven ; Edinburgh U.) ; Del Debbio, Luigi (Edinburgh U.) ; Erben, Felix (Edinburgh U.) ; Flynn, Jonathan (Southampton U.) ; Jüttner, Andreas (Southampton U. ; CERN) ; Portelli, Antonin (Edinburgh U.) ; Tsang, Justus Tobias (Southern Denmark U., CP3-Origins) ; Witzel, Oliver (Siegen U.)
We present the status of our project to calculate $D \to \pi \ell \nu$, $D \to K \ell \nu$ and $D_s \to K \ell \nu$ semileptonic form factors using domain wall fermions for both heavy and light quarks. Our computations are performed using RBC/UKQCD's set of 2+1 flavour domain wall fermion and Iwasaki gauge field ensembles. [...]
