Primordial black holes and their gravitational-wave signatures / LISA Cosmology Working Group Collaboration
In the recent years, primordial black holes (PBHs) have emerged as one of the most interesting and hotly debated topics in cosmology. [...]

Bayesian analysis of the spin distribution of LIGO/Virgo black holes / García-Bellido, Juan (Madrid, IFT) ; Nuño Siles, José Francisco (Madrid, IFT) ; Ruiz Morales, Ester (Madrid, Polytechnic U.)
Gravitational wave detection from binary black hole (BBH) inspirals has become routine thanks to the LIGO/Virgo interferometers. The nature of these back holes remains uncertain. [...]

Primordial Black Hole production in Critical Higgs Inflation / Ezquiaga, Jose Maria (Madrid, IFT ; UC, Berkeley) ; Garcia-Bellido, Juan (Madrid, IFT ; CERN) ; Ruiz Morales, Ester (Madrid U. ; CERN)
Primordial Black Holes (PBH) arise naturally from high peaks in the curvature power spectrum of near-inflection-point single-field inflation, and could constitute today the dominant component of the dark matter in the universe. In this letter we explore the possibility that a broad spectrum of PBH is formed in models of Critical Higgs Inflation (CHI), where the near-inflection point is related to the critical value of the RGE running of both the Higgs self-coupling $\lambda(\mu)$ and its non-minimal coupling to gravity $\xi(\mu)$. Primordial black holes from single field models of inflation / Garcia-Bellido, Juan (Madrid, IFT ; CERN) ; Ruiz Morales, Ester (Madrid U. ; CERN)
Primordial black holes (PBH) have been shown to arise from high peaks in the matter power spectra of multi-field models of inflation. Here we show, with a simple toy model, that it is also possible to generate a peak in the curvature power spectrum of single-field inflation. [...]

Particle production from symmetry breaking after inflation / García-Bellido, J ; Ruiz-Morales, Ester
Recent studies suggest that the process of symmetry breaking after inflation typically occurs very fast, within a single oscillation of the symmetry-breaking field, due to the spinodal growth of its long-wave modes, otherwise known as `tachyonic preheating'. In this letter we show how this sudden transition from the false to the true vacuum can induce a significant production of particles, bosons and fermions, coupled to the symmetry-breaking field. CERN LHC sensitivity to the resonance spectrum of a minimal strongly interacting electroweak symmetry breaking sector / Dobado, A ; Herrero, M J ; Peláez, J R ; Ruiz-Morales, Ester
We present a unified analysis of the two main production processes of vector boson pairs at the CERN LHC, VV-fusion and qq annihilation, in a minimal strongly interacting electroweak symmetry breaking sector. Using a unitarized electroweak chiral Lagrangian formalism and modeling the final V/sub L/V/sub L/ strong rescattering effects by a form factor, we describe qq annihilation processes in terms of the two chiral parameters that govern elastic V/sub L/V/sub L/ scattering.
