System size and energy dependence of the mean transverse momentum fluctuations at the LHC / Acharya, Shreyasi (Clermont-Ferrand U.) ; Agarwal, Apar (Calcutta, VECC) ; Aglieri Rinella, Gianluca (CERN) ; Aglietta, Luca (Turin U. ; INFN, Turin) ; Agnello, Michelangelo (Turin Polytechnic) ; Agrawal, Neelima (Bologna U. ; INFN, Bologna) ; Ahammed, Zubayer (Calcutta, VECC) ; Ahmad, Shakeel (Aligarh Muslim U.) ; Ahn, Sang Un (KISTI, Daejeon) ; Ahuja, Ishaan (Kosice U.) et al.
Event-by-event fluctuations of the event-wise mean transverse momentum, $\langle p_{\mathrm{T}}\rangle$, of charged particles produced in proton-proton (pp) collisions at $\sqrt{s}$ = 5.02 TeV, Xe-Xe collisions at $\sqrt{s_{\mathrm{NN}}}$ = 5.44 TeV, and Pb-Pb collisions at $\sqrt{s_{\mathrm{NN}}}$ = 5.02 TeV are studied using the ALICE detector based on the integral correlator $\langle \langle \Delta p_{\rm T}\Delta p_{\rm T}\rangle \rangle $. The correlator strength is found to decrease monotonically with increasing produced charged-particle multiplicity measured at mid-rapidity in all three systems. [...]

Measurements of differential two-particle number and transverse momentum correlation functions in pp collisions at $\sqrt{s}$ = 13 TeV / Acharya, Shreyasi (Clermont-Ferrand U.) ; Agarwal, Apar (Calcutta, VECC) ; Aglieri Rinella, Gianluca (CERN) ; Aglietta, Luca (Turin U. ; INFN, Turin) ; Agnello, Michelangelo (Turin Polytechnic) ; Agrawal, Neelima (Bologna U. ; INFN, Bologna) ; Ahammed, Zubayer (Calcutta, VECC) ; Ahmad, Shakeel (Aligarh Muslim U.) ; Ahn, Sang Un (KISTI, Daejeon) ; Ahuja, Ishaan (Kosice U.) et al.
Differential two-particle normalized cumulants ($R_2$) and transverse momentum correlations ($P_2$) are measured as a function of the relative pseudorapidity and azimuthal angle difference $( \Delta \eta, \Delta \varphi )$ of charged particle pairs in minimum bias pp collisions at $\sqrt{\textit{s}}$ = 13 TeV. The measurements use charged hadrons in the pseudorapidity region of $|\eta| < 0.8$ and the transverse momentum range 0.2 $< \textit{p}_{\mathrm T} < $ 2.0 $\mathrm{GeV}/\textit{c}$ in order to focus on soft multiparticle interactions and to complement prior measurements of these correlation functions in p-Pb and Pb-Pb collisions. Skewness and kurtosis of mean transverse momentum fluctuations at the LHC energies / ALICE Collaboration
The first measurements of skewness and kurtosis of mean transverse momentum ($\langle p_\mathrm{T}\rangle$) fluctuations are reported in Pb$-$Pb collisions at $\sqrt{s_\mathrm{NN}}$ $=$ 5.02 TeV, Xe$-$Xe collisions at $\sqrt{s_\mathrm{NN}}$ $=$ 5.44 TeV and pp collisions at $\sqrt{s} = 5.02$ TeV using the ALICE detector. The measurements are carried out as a function of system size $\langle \mathrm{d}N_\mathrm{ch}/\mathrm{d}\eta\rangle_{|\eta|<0.5}^{1/3}$, using charged particles with transverse momentum ($p_\mathrm{T}$) and pseudorapidity ($\eta$), in the range $0.2 < p_\mathrm{T} < 3.0$ GeV/$\it{c}$ and $|\eta| < 0.8$, respectively. Inclusive photon production at forward rapidities in pp and p-Pb collisions at $\sqrt{s_{\rm NN}}$ = 5.02 TeV / ALICE Collaboration
A study of multiplicity and pseudorapidity distributions of inclusive photons measured in pp and p-Pb collisions at a center-of-mass energy per nucleon-nucleon collision of $\sqrt{s_{\rm NN}}$ = 5.02 TeV using the ALICE detector in the forward pseudorapidity region $2.3 < \eta_{\rm lab} < 3.9$ is presented. Measurements in p-Pb collisions are reported for two beam configurations in which the directions of the proton and lead ion beam were reversed. [...]

The ALICE experiment: a journey through QCD / ALICE Collaboration
The ALICE experiment was proposed in 1993, to study strongly interacting matter at extreme energy densities via a comprehensive investigation of nuclear collisions at the LHC. Its physics programme initially focused on the determination of the properties of the Quark-Gluon Plasma (QGP), a deconfined state of quarks and gluons and was extended along the years, covering a diverse ensemble of observables related to Quantum Chromodynamics (QCD), the theory of strong interactions. A wide dynamic range (ratio of maximum detectable signal to noise floor) front end electronics (FEE) readout ASIC ANUINDRA has been developed in 0.35μm standard N-well CMOS technology for the prototype forward calorimeter (FOCAL), a silicon–tungsten (Si–W) electromagnetic (EM) calorimeter, proposed as part of the ALICE upgrade at CERN. It is a 16 channel pulse processing ASIC with a multiplexed serial output along with all the individual channel’s responses available as output pins. [...]

Closing in on critical net-baryon fluctuations at LHC energies: Cumulants up to third order in Pb–Pb collisions / ALICE Collaboration
Fluctuation measurements are important sources of information on the mechanism of particle production at LHC energies. This article reports the first experimental results on third-order cumulants of the net-proton distributions in Pb$-$Pb collisions at a center-of-mass energy $\sqrt{s_{\rm NN}} = 5.02$ TeV recorded by the ALICE detector. Possible early universe signals in proton collisions at the Large Hadron Collider / Sahoo, Raghunath (Indian Inst. Tech., Kanpur ; CERN) ; Nayak, Tapan Kumar (CERN ; NISER, Jatni)
Our universe was born about 13.8 billion years ago from an extremely hot and dense singular point, in a process known as the Big Bang. The hot and dense matter which dominated the system within a few microseconds of its birth was in the form of a soup of elementary quarks and gluons, known as the quark-gluon plasma (QGP). [...]
