FCC-ee is a proposed lepton collider with a circumference close to 100 km to produce an unprecedented amount of luminosity. The FCC-ee optics tuning working group is addressing one of the most critical aspects of the FCC-ee, that is the recovery of the optics design performance in presence of realistic imperfections. Protection Layers Design for the High Luminosity LHC Full Remote Alignment System / Fernández Adiego, Borja (CERN) ; Blanco Viñuela, Enrique (CERN) ; Germinario, Andrea (CERN) ; Mainaud Durand, Helene (CERN) ; Sosin, Mateusz (CERN)
The Full Remote Alignment System (FRAS) is a complex measurement, alignment and control system designed to remotely align components of the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) following its High Luminosity upgrade. The purpose of FRAS is to guarantee optimal alignment of the strong focusing magnets and associated components near the experimental interaction points, while at the same time limiting the radiation dose to which surveyors in the LHC tunnel are subjected. Characterization and alignment of a resonant cavity beam position monitor for the Compact LInear Collider (CLIC) project at CERN / Zorzetti, Silvia (CERN ; Fermilab) ; Wendt, Manfred (CERN) ; Mainaud-Durand, Hélène (CERN)
Beam diagnostic devices are essential tools to sense the properties of the beam in particle accelerators. Beam Position Monitors (BPMs) are used to detect the transverse beam spatial coordinates. [...]

REMOTE: Geodetic metrology for future accelerators - Towards the alignment of future colliders / Mainaud Durand, Helene (speaker) (CERN)
Abstract Geodetic metrology for colliders has always been a challenge for surveyors, due to the high number and diversity of components to align, the very specific measurement environment and the non-standard alignment tolerances. This led to the development of new methods and instrumentation, the push for accuracy of the existing ones, and their automation. This lecture will describe the steps needed to perform the alignment of components inside a collider, from the geodetic infrastructure to the final smoothing inside the tunnel. [...]

Robust Optical Instrumentation for Accelerator Alignment Using Frequency Scanning Interferometry / Sosin, Mateusz (CERN) ; Mainaud Durand, Helene (CERN) ; Micolon, Frederic (CERN) ; Rude, Vivien (CERN) ; Rutkowski, Jaroslaw M (CERN)
The precise alignment of components inside particle accelerators is an important engineering challenge in high-energy physics. Optical interferometry, being a precise, optical distance measurement technique, is often a method of choice in such applications. [...]

Chapter 15: Integration, (de-)installation and alignment / Fessia, Paolo (CERN) ; Mainaud Durand, Helene (CERN)
The HL-LHC will require modifying the machine and infrastructure installations of the LHC in several points along the Accelerator Ring, in particular: P1, P2, P4, P5, P6, P7 and P8. Part of the modifications and improvement in P2, P4, P7 and P8 shall be completed during Long Shutdown 2 (LS2) and be operational for LHC Run 3, while the largest part of the interventions will take place in Long Shutdown 3 (LS3) and they will affect primarily P1, P4, P5, P6 and P7. The activities required point by point will be therefore listed and analysed here below..

Improving high precision cam mover’s stiffness / Kemppinen, Juha (CERN) ; Mainaud Durand, Helene (CERN) ; Herty, Andreas (CERN)
Pre-alignment is a key challenge of the Compact Linear Collider (CLIC) study. The requirement for CLIC main beam quadrupole (MBQ) alignment is positioning to within 1 μm from target in 5 degrees of freedom (DOF) with ± 3 mm travel. [...]
