The use of scintillating plastic fibres in the SciFi tracker requires rigorous quality control. The fibre diameter and in particular local variations in form of bumps and necks have an impact on the regularity of the winding pattern and hence the spatial resolution. [...]

A dedicated device for measuring the magnetic field of the ND280 magnet in the T2K experiment
/ Frank, E (Bern U., LHEP) ; Ariga, A (Bern U., LHEP) ; Ariga, T (Bern U., LHEP) ; Bay, F (Bern U., LHEP) ; Bergsma, F (CERN) ; Ereditato, A (Bern U., LHEP) ; Garnier, F (CERN) ; Giudici, P A (CERN) ; Hahn, F (CERN) ; Kehrli, A (CERN) et al.
This paper describes a dedicated device to map the magnetic field of the T2K near detector (ND280) magnet, which runs at a nominal field value of 0.2 T, with an accuracy of the order of a Gauss. A high accuracy mapping is a key ingredient in order to provide the required momentum accuracy in the ND280 time projection chambers (TPCs) allowing T2K to measure precisely the PMNS matrix parameters m(23)(2) and (23). Tests and Field Map of LHCb Dipole Magnet
/ Losasso, Marcello (CERN) ; Bersgma, Felix (CERN) ; Flegel, Wilfried (CERN) ; Giudici, Pierre-Ange (CERN) ; Hernando, Jose Angel (CERN) ; Jamet, Olivier (CERN) ; Lindner, Rolf (CERN) ; Renaud, Jean (CERN) ; Teubert, Frederic (CERN)
The LHCb experiment at the LHC at CERN is aimed to study CP violation and to measure the rare decays of B-mesons with exceptionally high precision. A 4 Tm dipole magnet is required for particle separation and momentum measurements. [...]
