Probing quantum gravity using photons from a flare of the active galactic nucleus Markarian 501 observed by the MAGIC telescope / MAGIC Collaboration
We use the timing of photons observed by the MAGIC gamma-ray telescope during a flare of the active galaxy Markarian 501 to probe a vacuum refractive index ~ 1-(E/M_QGn)^n, n = 1,2, that might be induced by quantum gravity. The peaking of the flare is found to maximize for quantum-gravity mass scales M_QG1 ~ 0.4x10^18 GeV or M_QG2 ~ 0.6x10^11 GeV, and we establish lower limits M_QG1 > 0.26x10^18 GeV or M_QG2 > 0.39x10^11 GeV at the 95% C.L. Particle production in central Pb + Pb collisions at 158 AGeV/c / NA44 Collaboration
The NA44 experiment has measured single-particle inclusive spectra for charged pions, kaons, and protons as a function of transverse mass near midrapidity in 158A GeV/c Pb+Pb collisions. From the particle mass dependence of the observed m/sub T/ distributions, we are able to deduce a value of about 120 MeV for the temperature at thermal freeze-out. [...]

High transverse mass pion and proton correlations in central Pb Pb collisions at $\sqrt{S_{NN}}$ = 17GeV/nucleon / NA44 Collaboration
For central Pb Pb collisions at a center of mass energy of $\sqrt{S_{NN}}$ = 17.3 GeV/nucleon we have made the first two-dimensional measurement of the pp correlation function. [...]

Proton and deuteron production has been observed in S+S and S+Pb collisions at 200 A GeV and in Pb+Pb reactions at 158 A GeV at the CERN SPS accelerator. For Pb+Pb triton production was also measured. [...]

Event Texture Search for Phase Transitions in Pb+Pb Collisions / NA44 Collaboration
NA44 uses a 512 channel Si pad array covering $1.5 <\eta < 3.3$ to study charged hadron production in 158 A GeV Pb+Pb collisions at the CERN SPS. We apply a multiresolution analysis, based on a Discrete Wavelet Transformation, to probe the texture of particle distributions event-by-event, allowing simultaneous localization of features in space and scale. Production of $\phi$ -mesons in p+p, p+Pb and central Pb+Pb collisions at $E_{beam}$=158 A GeV / NA49 Collaboration
Yields and phase space distributions of $\phi-$ mesons emitted from $p$+$p$ (minimum bias trigger), $p$+Pb (at various centralities) and central Pb +Pb collisions are reported (E/sub beam/=158 A GeV). The decay $\phi$ to K/sup +/K/sup -/ was used for identification. [...]
