Measurement of the muon flux for the SHiP experiment / SHiP Collaboration
We report the results of the measurement of the muon flux emanating from the SHiP target at the CERN SPS. A replica of the SHiP target followed by a $2.4~\rm{m}$ iron hadron absorber was installed in the H4 400 GeV/c proton beamline. [...]

Determination of jet calibration and energy resolution in proton-proton collisions at $\sqrt{s}$ = 8 TeV using the ATLAS detector / ATLAS Collaboration
The jet energy scale, jet energy resolution, and their systematic uncertainties are measured for jets reconstructed with the ATLAS detector in 2012 using proton-proton data produced at a centre-of-mass energy of 8 TeV with an integrated luminosity of 20 fb$^{-1}$. Jets are reconstructed from clusters of energy depositions in the ATLAS calorimeters using the anti-$k_t$ algorithm. [...]

A Beam Dump Facility (BDF) at CERN – The Concept and a First Radiological Assessment / Ahdida, Claudia Christina (CERN) ; Avigni, Pietro (CERN) ; Casolino, Mirkoantonio (The Barcelona Institute of Science and Technology (BIST) (ES)) ; Calviani, Marco (CERN) ; Busom Descarrega, Josep (CERN) ; Canhoto Espadanal, Joao Pedro (CERN) ; Grenard, Jean-Louis (CERN) ; Jacobsson, Richard (CERN) ; Kershaw, Keith (CERN) ; Lamont, Mike (CERN) et al.
The Beam Dump Facility (BDF) Project, currently in its design phase, is a proposed general-purpose fixed target facility at CERN, dedicated to the Search for Hidden Particles (SHiP) experiment in its initial phase and whose aim is to fully absorb the high intensity 400 GeV/c SPS beam. The BDF target complex would be located underground at a depth of about 10 m and is designed to contain most of the cascade generated by the primary beam interaction. [...]

The Beam Dump Facility (BDF) Project, currently in its design phase, is a proposed general-purpose fixed target facility at CERN, dedicated to the Search for Hidden Particles (SHiP) experiment in its initial phase. At the core of the installation resides the target/dump assembly, whose aim is to fully absorb the high intensity 400 GeV/c SPS beam and produce charmed mesons. [...]

Comparison between simulated and observed LHC beam backgrounds in the ATLAS experiment at $E_{\rm beam} = 4$ TeV / ATLAS Collaboration
Results of dedicated Monte Carlo simulations of beam-induced background (BIB) in the ATLAS experiment at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) are presented and compared with data recorded in 2012. During normal physics operation this background arises mainly from scattering of the 4 TeV protons on residual gas in the beam pipe. [...]

Search for invisible Higgs boson decays in vector boson fusion at $\sqrt{s} = 13$ TeV with the ATLAS detector / ATLAS Collaboration
We report a search for Higgs bosons that are produced via vector boson fusion and subsequently decay into invisible particles. The experimental signature is two energetic jets with $\mathcal{O}(1)$ TeV invariant mass and $\mathcal{O}(100)$ GeV missing transverse momentum. [...]

A search for pairs of highly collimated photon-jets in $pp$ collisions at $\sqrt{s}$ = 13 TeV with the ATLAS detector / ATLAS Collaboration
Results of a search for the pair production of photon-jets - collimated groupings of photons - in the ATLAS detector at the Large Hadron Collider are reported. Highly collimated photon-jets can arise from the decay of new, highly boosted particles that can decay to multiple photons collimated enough to be identified in the electromagnetic calorimeter as a single, photon-like energy cluster.
