Exotic Higgs decays in a neutrino mass model with discrete S3 symmetry / Bhattacharyya, G (Saha Inst.) ; Leser, P (Dortmund U.) ; Päs, H (Dortmund U.)
Exotic Higgs decays can arise in lepton flavor models with horizontal symme- tries. We investigate the scalar sector of a neutrino mass model using an S3 family symmetry as an example. [...]

Universal doublet-singlet Higgs couplings and phenomenology at the CERN Large Hadron Collider / Bhattacharyya, Gautam (Saha Inst.) ; Branco, Gustavo C. (Lisbon, CFTP ; Lisbon, IST ; CERN) ; Nandi, S. (Oklahoma State U. ; CERN)
We consider a minimal extension of the Standard Model where a real, gauge singlet scalar field is added to the standard spectrum. Introducing the Ansatz of universality of scalar couplings, we are led to a scenario which has a set of very distinctive and testable predictions: (i) the mixing between the SM Higgs and the new state is near maximal, (ii) the ratio of the two Higgs mass eigenstates is fixed ($\sim \sqrt{3}$), (iii) the decay modes of each of the two eigenstates are Standard Model like. Discussion on a possible neutrino detector located in India / Murthy, M.V.N. (IMSc, Chennai) ; Yajnik, U.A. (Indian Inst. Tech., Mumbai) ; Balaji, K.R.S. ; Bhattacharyya, G. ; Dighe, Amol ; Dugad, Shashikant ; Hari Dass, N.D. ; Kabir, P.K. ; Kar, Kamales ; Indumathi, D. et al.
We have identified some important and worthwhile physics opportunitites with a possible neutrino detector located in India. Particular emphasis is placed on the geographical advantage with a stress on the complimentary aspects with respect to other neutrino detectors already in operation..

Testing orbifold models of Supersymmetric Grand Unification / Bhattacharyya, Gautam (Saha Inst.) ; Sridhar, K. (CERN)
In a model of supersymmetric SU(5) Grand Unification with a spatial dimension described by the orbifold $S^1/(Z_2 \times Z_2')$, proton decay is naturally suppressed at all orders. This is achieved by a suitable implementation of the discrete symmetries on the brane. [...]

Fourth-generation leptons at LEP2 / Bhattacharyya, Gautam (CERN) ; Choudhury, Debajyoti (Munich, Max Planck Inst.)
From non-observation at LEP1, a lower mass limit of 45 GeV has been established on any additional sequential fermion beyond the three generations. Precision measurements have further constrained the number of such additional generations, either degenerate or nearly so, to be at most one. [...]
