The ABC130 barrel module prototyping programme for the ATLAS strip tracker / ATLAS Collaboration
For the Phase-II Upgrade of the ATLAS Detector, its Inner Detector, consisting of silicon pixel, silicon strip and transition radiation sub-detectors, will be replaced with an all new 100 % silicon tracker, composed of a pixel tracker at inner radii and a strip tracker at outer radii. The future ATLAS strip tracker will include 11,000 silicon sensor modules in the central region (barrel) and 7,000 modules in the forward region (end-caps), which are foreseen to be constructed over a period of 3.5 years. Utopia: A Nine Decade Femtoampere Sensitivity Current Digitizer and its Application in Ionizing Radiation Monitoring / Voulgari, Evgenia (CERN) ; Noy, Matthew (CERN) ; Anghinolfi, Francis (CERN) ; Krummenacher, Francois (Ecole Polytechnique, Lausanne) ; Kayal, Maher (Ecole Polytechnique, Lausanne)
Radiation measurements and monitoring are very important for particle physics accelerators, hadron therapy institutes, and nuclear facilities. An Application Specific Integrated Circuit (ASIC) able to digitize current generated from ionization chambers was designed and characterized in order to be used as the front-end of the new radiation monitoring system at CERN. An ultra-low current sensing digitizer circuit was designed for radiation monitoring for personnel and environmental safety at CERN.The Ultralow Picoammeter 2 (Utopia 2) ASIC includes some key functionalities like on-chip active leakage current compensation, charge balancing and range changing. It was designed in AMS 0.35 $\mu$m technology that was selected for its low leakage current performance. [...]

A 9-decade current to frequency converter with active leakage compensation / Voulgari, Evgenia (CERN) ; Noy, Matthew (CERN) ; Anghinolfi, Francis (CERN) ; Perrin, Daniel (CERN) ; Krummenacher, François (Ecole Polytechnique, Lausanne) ; Kayal, Maher (Ecole Polytechnique, Lausanne)
An Application Specific Integrated Circuit (ASIC) that is able to digitize input current starting from a few femtoamperes (fA) up to microamperes (μA), was designed for the environmental monitoring of the background radiation and for radiation protection at CERN. The Ultra-low Picoammeter 2 (Utopia 2) ASIC, is based on the current to frequency converter (CFC) architecture and can compensate for the net input leakage currents due to a dummy channel scheme. Measurement of jet $p_{\mathrm{T}}$ correlations in Pb+Pb and $pp$ collisions at $\sqrt{s_{\mathrm{NN}}}=2.76\textrm{ Te\kern -0.1em V}$ with the ATLAS detector / ATLAS Collaboration
Measurements of dijet $p_{\mathrm{T}}$ correlations in Pb+Pb and $pp$ collisions at a nucleon--nucleon centre-of-mass energy of $\sqrt{s_{\mathrm{NN}}}=2.76\textrm{ Te\kern -0.1em V}$ are presented. The measurements are performed with the ATLAS detector at the Large Hadron Collider using Pb+Pb and $pp$ data samples corresponding to integrated luminosities of 0.14 nb$^{-1}$ and 4.0 pb$^{-1}$, respectively. Measurement of the inclusive jet cross-sections in proton--proton collisions at $\sqrt{s}= $8 TeV with the ATLAS detector / ATLAS Collaboration
Inclusive jet production cross-sections are measured in proton--proton collisions at a centre-of-mass energy of $\sqrt{s}=$8 TeV recorded by the ATLAS experiment at the Large Hadron Collider at CERN. The total integrated luminosity of the analysed data set amounts to $20.2$ fb$^{-1}$. [...]

A testbench research based on UVM for ABCStar / Cheng, Li-Bo (Beijing, Inst. High Energy Phys.) ; Anghinolfi, Francis (CERN) ; Wang, Ke (Beijing, Inst. High Energy Phys.) ; Zhu, Hong-Bo (Beijing, Inst. High Energy Phys.) ; Lu, Wei-Guo (Beijing, Inst. High Energy Phys.) ; Liu, Zhen-An (Beijing, Inst. High Energy Phys.)
As physicists want to put more and more functionalities and algorithms into frontend ASICs, the logic design (of some ASICs) become more and more complicated. A reliable, robust functional verification testbench is one of the most important part during ASIC design. [...]

Femtoscopy with identified charged pions in proton-lead collisions at $\sqrt{s_{\mathrm{NN}}}=5.02$ TeV with ATLAS / ATLAS Collaboration
Bose-Einstein correlations between identified charged pions are measured for $p$+Pb collisions at $\sqrt{s_{\mathrm{NN}}}=5.02$ TeV using data recorded by the ATLAS detector at the LHC corresponding to a total integrated luminosity of $28~\mathrm{nb}^{-1}$. Pions are identified using ionization energy loss measured in the pixel detector. [...]

Jet reconstruction and performance using particle flow with the ATLAS Detector / ATLAS Collaboration
This paper describes the implementation and performance of a particle flow algorithm applied to 20.2 fb$^-1$ of ATLAS data from 8 TeV proton-proton collisions in Run 1 of the LHC. The algorithm removes calorimeter energy deposits due to charged hadrons from consideration during jet reconstruction, instead using measurements of their momenta from the inner tracker. [...]

Measurements of electroweak $Wjj$ production and constraints on anomalous gauge couplings with the ATLAS detector / ATLAS Collaboration
Measurements of the electroweak production of a $W$ boson in association with two jets at high dijet invariant mass are performed using $\sqrt{s} = 7$ and $8$ TeV proton--proton collision data produced by the Large Hadron Collider, corresponding respectively to 4.7 and 20.2 fb$^{-1}$ of integrated luminosity collected by the ATLAS detector. The measurements are sensitive to the production of a $W$ boson via a triple-gauge-boson vertex and include both the fiducial and differential cross sections of the electroweak process..
