To achieve the physics goals of the High Luminosity LHC program, the CMS Phase-2 upgrade of the Level-1 trigger system utilizes modern technologies to enhance the physics selectivity already at the hardware level of the data acquisition system. The intense hadronic environment corresponding to 200 simultaneous collisions per bunch crossing, imposes serious challenges to the system requirements. Measurement of the charge asymmetry of electrons from the decays of $W$ bosons produced in $p\bar{p}$ collisions at $\sqrt{s}=1.96$ TeV / CDF Collaboration
At the Fermilab Tevatron proton-antiproton ($p\bar{p}$) collider, high-mass electron-neutrino ($e\nu$) pairs are produced predominantly in the process $p \bar{p} \rightarrow W(\rightarrow e\nu) + X$. The asymmetry of the electron and positron yield as a function of their pseudorapidity constrain the slope of the ratio of the $u$- to $d$-quark parton distributions versus the fraction of the proton momentum carried by the quarks. The most recent measurements of single top quark production in proton-proton collisions at the LHC at centre-of-mass energies of 7, 8 and 13 TeV, using data collected with the CMS experiment, are presented. Precise measurements of the single top quark production cross section in the two most dominant production modes (t channel and tW production), measurements of rare processes involving a top quark and a neutral electroweak boson (Z or photon), and searches for Flavour changing neutral currents are discussed..
