The Gbar project, or how does antimatter fall? / Indelicato, Paul (Paris, Lab. Kastler Brossel) ; Chardin, G (CSNSM, Orsay) ; Grandemange, P (CSNSM, Orsay) ; Lunney, D (CSNSM, Orsay) ; Manea, V (CSNSM, Orsay) ; Badertscher, A (Zurich, ETH) ; Crivelli, P (Zurich, ETH) ; Curioni, A (Zurich, ETH) ; Marchionni, A (Zurich, ETH) ; Rossi, B (Zurich, ETH) et al.
The Einstein classical Weak Equivalence Principle states that the trajectory of a particle is independent of its composition and internal structure when it is only submitted to gravitational forces. This fundamental principle has never been directly tested with antimatter. [...]

Quantum reflection of antihydrogen from the Casimir potential above matter slabs / Dufour, G. (Paris, Lab. Kastler Brossel) ; Gerardin, A. (Paris, Lab. Kastler Brossel) ; Guerout, R. (Paris, Lab. Kastler Brossel) ; Lambrecht, A. (Paris, Lab. Kastler Brossel) ; Nesvizhevsky, V.V. (Laue-Langevin Inst.) ; Reynaud, S. (Paris, Lab. Kastler Brossel) ; Voronin, A.Yu. (Lebedev Inst.)
We study quantum reflection of antihydrogen atoms from matter slabs due to the van der Waals/Casimir-Polder (vdW/CP) potential. By taking into account the specificities of antihydrogen and the optical properties and width of the slabs we calculate realistic estimates for the potential and quantum reflection amplitudes. [...]

(L'Aquila U. ; INFN, Aquila) et al.
Presently under construction in Lund, Sweden, the European Spallation Source (ESS) will be the world's brightest neutron source. As such, it has the potential for a particle physics program with a unique reach and which is complementary to that available at other facilities. [...]

Interference of several gravitational quantum states of antihydrogen in GBAR experiment / Nesvizhevsky, V V (Laue-Langevin Inst.) ; Voronin, A Yu (Lebedev Inst.) ; Crépin, P P (Paris, Lab. Kastler Brossel) ; Reynaud, S (Paris, Lab. Kastler Brossel)
This analysis is based on a close analogy between two seemingly different experiments: on the gravitational properties of antihydrogen atoms in GBAR and on the neutron whispering gallery. They are described with high accuracy by the similar formalism. [...]

Positron accumulation in the GBAR experiment / GBAR Collaboration
We present a description of the GBAR positron (e+) trapping apparatus, which consists of a three stage Buffer Gas Trap (BGT) followed by a High Field Penning Trap (HFT), and discuss its performance. The overall goal of the GBAR experiment is to measure the acceleration of the neutral antihydrogen (H) atom in the terrestrial gravitational field by neutralising a positive antihydrogen ion (H+), which has been cooled to a low temperature, and observing the subsequent H annihilation following free fall. [...]

A pulsed high-voltage decelerator system to deliver low-energy antiprotons / Husson, A (IJCLab, Orsay) ; Kim, B H (Seoul Natl. U., Dept. Phys. The GBAR (Gravitational Behavior of Antihydrogen at Rest) experiment at CERN requires efficient deceleration of 100 keV antiprotons provided by the new ELENA synchrotron ring to synthesize antihydrogen. This is accomplished using electrostatic deceleration optics and a drift tube that is designed to switch from -99 kV to ground when the antiproton bunch is inside – essentially a charged particle “elevator” – producing a 1 keV pulse. Accumulation of Positrons from a LINAC Based Source / GBAR Collaboration
The GBAR experiment aims to measure the gravitational acceleration of antihydrogen H. It will use H + ions formed by the interaction of antiprotons with a dense positronium cloud, which will require about 1010 positrons to produce one H + [...]

Development of a PbWO4 Detector for Single-Shot Positron Annihilation Lifetime Spectroscopy at the GBAR Experiment / Kim, B H (Seoul Natl. U.) ; Choi, J J (Seoul Natl. Kastler Brossel) ; Dalkarov, O (Lebedev Inst.) ; Debu, P (IRFU, Saclay) ; Dodd, L (Swansea U.) et al.
We have developed a PbWO4 (PWO) detector with a large dynamic range to measure the intensity of a positron beam and the absolute density of the ortho-positronium (oPs) cloud it creates. A simulation study shows that a setup based on such detectors may be used to determine the angular distribution of the emission and reflection of oPs to reduce part of the uncertainties of the measurement.
