Standard Model with spontaneously broken quantum scale invariance / Ghilencea, D.M. (CERN ; Bucharest, IFIN-HH) ; Lalak, Z. (Warsaw U.) ; Olszewski, P. (Warsaw U.)
We explore the possibility that scale symmetry is a quantum symmetry that is broken only spontaneously and apply this idea to the Standard Model (SM). We compute the quantum corrections to the potential of the higgs field ($\phi$) in the classically scale invariant version of the SM ($m_\phi=0$ at tree level) extended by the dilaton ($\sigma$). [...]

Two-loop scale-invariant scalar potential and quantum effective operators / Ghilencea, D.M. (CERN ; Bucharest, IFIN-HH) ; Lalak, Z. (Warsaw U.) ; Olszewski, P. (Warsaw U.)
Spontaneous breaking of quantum scale invariance may provide a solution to the hierarchy and cosmological constant problems. In a scale-invariant regularization, we compute the two-loop potential of a higgs-like scalar $\phi$ in theories in which scale symmetry is broken only spontaneously by the dilaton ($\sigma$). [...]

Dynamical mass scale and approximate scaling symmetry in the Higgs sector / Lalak, Zygmunt (CERN ; Warsaw U.)
We investigate basic consequences of the assumption that the mass scale of the perturbative sector responsible for the spontaneous symmetry breaking is generated dynamically in a theory with a large UV scale. It is assumed that in addition to an elementary scalar there exists an additional scalar, a modulus, which controls the dynamical hierarchy of scales in the manner similar to that of supersymmetric gaugino condensation. [...]

Universal Constraints on Low-Energy Flavour Models / Calibbi, Lorenzo (Munich, Max Planck Inst.) ; Lalak, Zygmunt (Warsaw U. ; CERN) ; Pokorski, Stefan (Warsaw U. ; TUM-IAS, Munich) ; Ziegler, Robert (TUM-IAS, Munich ; Munich, Tech. U.)
It is pointed out that in a general class of flavour models one can identify certain universally present FCNC operators, induced by the exchange of heavy flavour messengers. Their coefficients depend on the rotation angles that connect flavour and fermion mass basis. [...]

The Messenger Sector of SUSY Flavour Models and Radiative Breaking of Flavour Universality / Calibbi, Lorenzo (Munich, Max Planck Inst.) ; Lalak, Zygmunt (Warsaw U. ; CERN) ; Pokorski, Stefan (Warsaw U. ; TUM-IAS, Munich) ; Ziegler, Robert (TUM-IAS, Munich ; Munich, Tech. U.)
The flavour messenger sectors and their impact on the soft SUSY breaking terms are investigated in SUSY flavour models. In the case when the flavour scale M is below the SUSY breaking mediation scale M_S, the universality of soft terms, even if assumed at M_S, is radiatively broken. [...]

Beyond MFV in family symmetry theories of fermion masses / Lalak, Zygmunt (Warsaw U.) ; Pokorski, Stefan (Warsaw U.) ; Ross, Graham G. (CERN ; Oxford U., Theor. Phys.)
Minimal Flavour Violation (MFV) postulates that the only source of flavour changing neutral currents and CP violation, as in the Standard Model, is the CKM matrix. However it does not address the origin of fermion masses and mixing and models that do usually have a structure that goes well beyond the MFV framework. [...]

F-term uplifting via consistent D-terms / Lalak, Z. (CERN ; Warsaw U.) ; Eyton-Williams, O.J. (Warsaw U.) ; Matyszkiewicz, R. (Dresden, Tech. U. ; Cracow, INP)
The issue of fine-tuning necessary to achieve satisfactory degree of hierarchy between moduli masses, the gravitino mass and the scale of the cosmological constant has been revisited in the context of supergravities with consistent D-terms. We have studied (extended) racetrack models where supersymmetry breaking and moduli stabilisation cannot be separated from each other. [...]

The Price of WMAP Inflation in Supergravity / Ellis, John R. (CERN) ; Lalak, Z. (Warsaw U.) ; Pokorski, S. (Warsaw U.) ; Turzynski, K. (Warsaw U.)
The three-year data from WMAP are in stunning agreement with the simplest possible quadratic potential for chaotic inflation, as well as with new or symmetry-breaking inflation. We investigate the possibilities for incorporating these potentials within supergravity, particularly of the no-scale type that is motivated by string theory. [...]
