Dependence of inclusive jet production on the anti-${k_{\mathrm{T}}}$ distance parameter in pp collisions at $\sqrt{s} = $ 13 TeV / CMS Collaboration
The dependence of inclusive jet production in proton-proton collisions with a center-of-mass energy of 13 TeV on the distance parameter $R$ of the anti-${k_{\mathrm{T}}}$ algorithm is studied using data corresponding to integrated luminosities up to 35.9 fb$^{-1}$ collected by the CMS experiment in 2016. The ratios of the inclusive cross sections as functions of transverse momentum ${p_{\mathrm{T}}}$ and rapidity $y$, for $R$ in the range 0.1 to 1.2 to those using $R= $ 0.4 are presented in the region 84 $ < {p_{\mathrm{T}}} < $ 1588 GeV and $|y| < $ 2.0. Identification of heavy, energetic, hadronically decaying particles using machine-learning techniques / CMS Collaboration
Machine-learning (ML) techniques are explored to identify and classify hadronic decays of highly Lorentz-boosted W/Z/Higgs bosons and top quarks. Techniques without ML have also been evaluated and are included for comparison. [...]

Measurement of the cross section for $\mathrm{t\bar{t}}$ production with additional jets and b jets in pp collisions at $\sqrt{s} = $ 13 TeV / CMS Collaboration
Measurements of the cross section for the production of top quark pairs in association with a pair of jets from bottom quarks (${\sigma_{{\mathrm{t\bar{t}}\mathrm{b\bar{b}}} }} $) and in association with a pair of jets from quarks of any flavor or gluons (${\sigma_{{\mathrm{t\bar{t}} \mathrm{jj}} }} $) and their ratio are presented. The data were collected in proton-proton collisions at a center-of-mass energy of 13 TeV by the CMS experiment at the LHC in 2016 and correspond to an integrated luminosity of 35.9 fb$^{-1}$. [...]

Study of central exclusive $\pi^{+}\pi^{-}$ production in proton-proton collisions at $\sqrt{s} = $ 5.02 and 13 TeV / CMS Collaboration
Central exclusive production of $\pi^{+}\pi^{-}$ pairs is measured with the CMS detector in proton-proton collisions at the LHC at center-of-mass energies of 5.02 and 13 TeV. The theoretical description of these nonperturbative processes, which have not yet been measured in detail at the LHC, poses a significant challenge to models. [...]

Pileup mitigation at CMS in 13 TeV data / CMS Collaboration

A measurement is presented of the cross section for electroweak production of a Z boson and a photon in association with two jets ( $\mathrm{Z \gamma jj}$) in proton-proton collisions. The Z boson candidates are selected through their decay into a pair of electrons or muons. [...]

Search for charged Higgs bosons decaying into a top and a bottom quark in the all-jet final state of pp collisions at $\sqrt{s}=$ 13 TeV / CMS Collaboration
A search for charged Higgs bosons (H$^\pm$) decaying into a top and a bottom quark in the all-jet final states is presented. The analysis uses LHC proton-proton collision data recorded with the CMS detector in 2016 at $\sqrt{s} =$ 13 TeV, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 35.9 fb$^{-1}$. [...]

Measurement of the associated production of a Z boson with charm or bottom quark jets in proton-proton collisions at $\sqrt{s}=$ 13 TeV / CMS Collaboration
Ratios of cross sections, $\sigma(\mathrm{Z+c\ \text{jets}})/\sigma(\mathrm{Z+ \text{jets}})$, $\sigma(\mathrm{Z+b\ \text{jets}})/\sigma(\mathrm{Z+ \text{jets}})$, and $\sigma(\mathrm{Z+c\ \text{jets}})/\sigma(\mathrm{Z+b\ \text{jets}})$ in the associated production of a Z boson with at least one charm or bottom quark jet are measured in proton-proton collisions at $\sqrt{s}=$ 13 TeV. The data sample, collected by the CMS experiment at the CERN LHC, corresponds to an integrated luminosity of 35.9 fb$^{-1}$, with a fiducial volume of ${p_{\mathrm{T}}} > $ 30 GeV and $|\eta| < $ 2.4 for the jets, where ${p_{\mathrm{T}}}$ and $\eta$ represent transverse momentum and pseudorapidity, respectively.
