Axions are a natural consequence of the Peccei-Quinn mechanism, the most compelling solution to the strong-CP problem. Similar axion-like particles (ALPs) also appear in a number of possible extensions of the Standard Model, notably in string theories. [...]

Conceptual Design of BabyIAXO, the intermediate stage towards the International Axion Observatory / IAXO Collaboration
This article describes BabyIAXO, an intermediate experimental stage of the International Axion Observatory (IAXO), proposed to be sited at DESY. IAXO is a large-scale axion helioscope that will look for axions and axion-like particles (ALPs), produced in the Sun, with unprecedented sensitivity. [...]

Zaragoza (main)) ; Belloni, F (IRFU, Saclay ; Geel, JRC) et al.
A novel MicroMegas detector based on microbulk technology with an embedded XY strip structure was developed, obtained by segmenting both the mesh and the anode in perpendicular directions. This results in a very low-mass device with good energy and spatial resolution capabilities. [...]

A Micromegas Detector for Neutron Beam Imaging at the n_TOF Facility at CERN / Belloni, F (Saclay) ; Andriamonje, S (CERN) ; Berthoumieux, E (Saclay) ; Calviani, M (CERN) ; Chiaveri, E (CERN ; Saclay) ; Colonna, N (INFN, Bari) ; Giomataris, Y (Saclay) ; Guerrero, C (CERN) ; Gunsing, F (Saclay) ; Iguaz, F J (Saclay) et al.
Micromegas (Micro-MEsh Gaseous Structure) detectors are gas detectors consisting of a stack of one ionization and one proportional chamber. A micromesh separates the two communicating regions, where two different electric fields establish respectively a charge drift and a charge multiplication regime. [...]

Towards smaller gap microbulks / Attié, D. (IRFU, Saclay) ; Boilevin-Kayl, L (IRFU, Saclay) ; Dafni, T (Zaragoza U.) ; Ferrer-Ribas, E. (IRFU, Saclay) ; Ferry, S (CERN) ; Giomataris, Y (IRFU, Saclay) ; Herrera, D C (Zaragoza U.) ; Iguaz, F J (IRFU, Saclay) ; Irastorza, I G (Zaragoza U.) ; Kebbiri, M (IRFU, Saclay) et al.
Small gap Micromegas detectors ( < 50 μm) are expected to be optimal for high pressure applications. Combining the microbulk manufacturing technique with a small gap can result in attractive detectors for rare event detection, in particular double beta decay or dark matter searches. [...]

Piggyback resistive Micromegas / Attié, D. (IRFU, Saclay) ; Chaus, A. (IRFU, Saclay) ; Durand, D. (IRFU, Saclay) ; Desforge, D. (IRFU, Saclay) ; Ferrer-Ribas, E. (IRFU, Saclay) ; Galán, J. Piggyback Micromegas consists in a novel readout architecture where the anode element is made of a resistive layer on a ceramic substrate. The resistive layer is deposited on the thin ceramic substrate by an industrial process which provides large dynamic range of resistivity (10$^6$ to 10$^{10}$\,M$\Omega$/square). [...]

A new 2D-micromegas detector for neutron beam diagnostic at n_TOF / Andriamonje, S (CERN) ; Giomataris, Y (Saclay) ; Vlachoudis, V (CERN) ; Guerrero, C (Madrid, CIEMAT) ; Losito, R (CERN) ; Calviani, M (CERN) ; Gunsing, F (Saclay) ; Colonna, N (INFN, Bari) ; Papaevangelou, T (Saclay) ; Berthoumieux, E (Saclay) et al.
A novel detector for 2D neutron beam diagnostic has been jointly developed by CERN and CEA in the framework of the n\_TOF Collaboration for investigation of the neutron beam spatial characteristics, namely position and profile as a function of the neutron energy. The detector is based on the already established MicroMegas ``Bulk{''} technology and has been evolved from the one used for the CAST (CERN Axion Solar Telescope) experiment but equipped with an appropriate neutron/charged particle converter for neutron detection. In order to obtain high precision cross-section measurements using the time-of-flight technique, it is important to know with good accuracy the neutron fluence at the measuring station. The detector dedicated to these measurements should be placed upstream of the detectors used for capture and fission cross-section measurements. [...]

We report on the status of the R&D; for a digital Time Projection Chamber (TPC) based on Micromegas (MICRO MEsh GAseous Structure) detectors using the CMOS chip TimePix as a direct readout anode protected by highly resistive a-Si:H layer. A small chamber was built as a demonstrator of the 2-D and 3-D imaging capabilities of this technique. [...]
