QED and EW in precision measurements / Giardino, Pier Paolo (Madrid, Autonoma U.)
Precision physics is an invaluable tool, and it can help in the search of physics beyond the Standard Model. In this contribution I will give a short introduction of the main features of the EW precision physics in the context of the Standard Model and the Standard Model Effective Field Theory..

Investigating the near-criticality of the Higgs boson / Buttazzo, Dario (CERN ; Pisa, Scuola Normale Superiore ; INFN, Pisa) ; Degrassi, Giuseppe (INFN, Rome3 ; Rome III U.) ; Giardino, Pier Paolo (Pisa U. ; CERN ; INFN, Pisa) ; Giudice, Gian F. We extract from data the parameters of the Higgs potential, the top Yukawa coupling and the electroweak gauge couplings with full 2-loop NNLO precision, and we extrapolate the SM parameters up to large energies with full 3-loop NNLO RGE precision. Then we study the phase diagram of the Standard Model in terms of high-energy parameters, finding that the measured Higgs mass roughly corresponds to the minimum values of the Higgs quartic and top Yukawa and the maximum value of the gauge couplings allowed by vacuum metastability. The universal Higgs fit / Giardino, Pier Paolo (Pisa U. ; INFN, Pisa ; CERN) ; Kannike, Kristjan (Pisa, Scuola Normale Superiore ; INFN, Pisa ; NICPB, Tallinn) ; Masina, Isabella (Ferrara U. ; INFN, Ferrara ; Southern Denmark U., CP3-Origins) ; Raidal, Martti (NICPB, Tallinn ; Tartu, Inst. Phys.) ; Strumia, Alessandro (Pisa U. ; INFN, Pisa ; NICPB, Tallinn)
We perform a state-of-the-art global fit to all Higgs data. We synthesise them into a 'universal' form, which allows to easily test any desired model. [...]

Is the resonance at 125 GeV the Higgs boson? / Giardino, Pier Paolo (Pisa U. ; INFN, Pisa) ; Kannike, Kristjan (Pisa, Scuola Normale Superiore ; INFN, Pisa ; NICPB, Tallinn) ; Raidal, Martti (NICPB, Tallinn ; CERN ; Tartu, Inst. Phys.) ; Strumia, Alessandro (Pisa U. ; INFN, Pisa ; NICPB, Tallinn)
The recently discovered resonance at 125 GeV has properties remarkably close to those of the Standard Model Higgs boson. We perform model-independent fits of all presently available data. [...]

Reconstructing Higgs boson properties from the LHC and Tevatron data / Giardino, Pier Paolo (Pisa U. ; INFN, Pisa) ; Kannike, Kristjan (Pisa, Scuola Normale Superiore ; INFN, Pisa) ; Raidal, Martti (NICPB, Tallinn ; CERN ; Tartu, Inst. We perform a phenomenological fit to all ATLAS, CMS, CDF and D0 Higgs boson data available after Moriond 2012. We allow all Higgs boson branching fractions, its couplings to standard model particles, as well as to an hypothetical invisible sector to vary freely, and determine their current favourite values. LHC bounds on large extra dimensions / Franceschini, Roberto (LPHE, Lausanne) ; Giardino, Pier Paolo (Pisa U. ; INFN, Pisa) ; Giudice, Gian F. (CERN) ; Lodone, Paolo (Pisa, Scuola Normale Superiore ; INFN, Pisa) ; Strumia, Alessandro (Pisa U. ; INFN, Pisa ; NICPB, Tallinn)
We derive new dominant bounds on the coefficient of the effective operator generated by tree-level graviton exchange in large extra dimensions from pp \rightarrow jj data at LHC: M_T > 2.1TeV (ATLAS after 3.1/pb of integrated luminosity), M_T > 3.4 TeV (CMS after 36/pb), MT > 3.2 TeV (ATLAS after 36/pb). We clarify the role of on-shell graviton exchange and compare the full graviton amplitude to ATLAS data, setting bounds on the fundamental quantum-gravity scale..
