Electroweak Measurements in Electron-Positron Collisions at W-Boson-Pair Energies at LEP / ALEPH Collaboration
Electroweak measurements performed with data taken at the electron-positron collider LEP at CERN from 1995 to 2000 are reported. The combined data set considered in this report corresponds to a total luminosity of about 3~fb1 collected by the four LEP experiments ALEPH, DELPHI, L3 and OPAL, at centre-of-mass energies ranging from 130 GeV to 209 GeV [...]

Search for Charged Higgs bosons: Combined Results Using LEP data / ALEPH, DELPHI, L3 and OPAL Collaborations
The four LEP collaborations, ALEPH, DELPHI, L3 and OPAL, have searched for pair-produced charged Higgs bosons in the framework of Two Higgs Doublet Models (2HDMs). The data of the four experiments are statistically combined. [...]

Possible Origin Of The Neutrino Speed Anomaly Reported By OPERA / Dado, Shlomo (Technion) ; Dar, Arnon (Technion)
Recently the OPERA collaboration reported a measurement of a superluminal speed of muon neutrinos travelling through the Earth's crust between their production site at CERN and their detection site under Gran Sasso, ~730 km away. [...]

Determination of αS using OPAL hadronic event shapes at s = 91 − 209 GeV and resummed NNLO calculations / OPAL Collaboration
Hadronic event shape distributions from e+e− annihilation measured by the OPAL experiment at centre-of-mass energies between 91 GeV and 209 GeV are used to determine the strong coupling αS. The results are based on QCD predictions complete to the next-to-next-to-leading order (NNLO), and on NNLO calculations matched to the resummed next-to-leading-log-approximation terms (NNLO+NLLA). Origin of the Ultrahigh-Energy Cosmic Rays and their Spectral Break / Dado, Shlomo (Technion) ; Dar, Arnon (Technion) ; De Rujula, A (Madrid, Autonoma U. ; Madrid, CIEMAT ; CERN ; Boston U.)
The energy spectrum, composition and arrival directions of ultrahigh energy cosmic rays (UHECRs) with energy above the cosmic ray ankle, measured by the Pierre Auger Observatory, are inconsistent if their origin is assumed to be extragalactic. Their observed properties, however, are those expected from UHECRs accelerated by the highly relativistic jets emitted in Galactic gamma ray bursts, most of which are beamed away from Earth. [...]

Σ-antihyperon correlations in Z0 decay and investigation of the baryon production mechanism / OPAL Collaboration
Data collected around sqrt{s}=91 GeV by the OPAL experiment at the LEP e+e- collider are used to study the mechanism of baryon formation. As the signature, the fraction of Sigma-hyperons whose baryon number is compensated by the production of a Sigma-, Lambda or Xi- antihyperon is determined. [...]

Long Gamma-Ray Bursts without Visible Supernovae : A Case Study of Redshift Estimators and Alleged Novel Objects / Dado, Shlomo (Technion) ; Dar, Arnon (Technion) ; De Rújula, A (CERN ; Boston U.) ; Plaga, Rainer (Bonn U.)
It has been argued that the observational limits on a supernova (SN) associated with GRB 060614 convincingly exclude a SN akin to SN 1998bw as its originator and provide evidence for a new class of long-duration GRBs. We discuss this issue in the contexts of indirect "redshift estimators" and of the fireball and cannonball models of GRBs. [...]

Measurement of αs with Radiative Hadronic Events / OPAL Collaboration
Hadronic final states with a hard isolated photon are studied using data taken at centre-of-mass energies around the mass of the Z0 boson with the OPAL detector at LEP. The strong coupling alpha S is extracted by comparing data and QCD predictions for event shape observables at average reduced centre-of-mass energies ranging from 24 GeV to 78 GeV, and the energy dependence of alpha S is studied. Search for Charged Higgs Bosos in e+e Collisions at s = 189-209 GeV / OPAL collaboration
A search is made for charged Higgs bosons predicted by Two-Higgs-Doublet extensions of the Standard Model (2HDM) using electron-positron collision data collected by the OPAL experiment at sqrts=189-209 GeV, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of approximately 600pb-1. Charged Higgs bosons are assumed to be pair-produced and to decay into qq, tnt or AWpm. [...]
