Measurement of the Permanent Electric Dipole Moment of the Neutron / Abel, C. (Sussex U.) ; Afach, S. (PSI, Villigen ; Zurich, ETH) ; Ayres, N.J. (Sussex U. ; Zurich, ETH) ; Baker, C.A. (Rutherford) ; Ban, G. (Caen U.) ; Bison, G. (PSI, Villigen) ; Bodek, K. (Jagiellonian U.) ; Bondar, V. (PSI, Villigen ; Zurich, ETH ; Leuven U.) ; Burghoff, M. (Berlin, Phys. Tech. Bund.) ; Chanel, E. (U. Bern, AEC) et al.
We present the result of an experiment to measure the electric dipole moment (EDM) of the neutron at the Paul Scherrer Institute using Ramsey's method of separated oscillating magnetic fields with ultracold neutrons (UCN). Our measurement stands in the long history of EDM experiments probing physics violating time reversal invariance. [...]

Production and decay of $\eta^\prime$(958) and $\eta$(1440) in $\bar{p} p$ annihilation at rest / Amsler, Claude (U. Zurich (main)) ; Anisovich, A V (U. Bonn (main)) ; Baker, C A (Rutherford) ; Barnett, B M (U. Bonn (main)) ; Batty, C J (Rutherford) ; Blum, P (Karlsruhe U.) ; Braune, K (LMU Munich (main)) ; Credé, V (U. Bonn (main)) ; Crowe, K M (LBNL, Berkeley) ; Doser, M (CERN) et al.
We report on a study of four reactions in $\bar{\mathrm p}{\mathrm p}$ annihilation at rest, of $\bar{\mathrm p}{\mathrm p} \rightarrow 2\pi^ + 2\pi^-\eta$, $\bar{\mathrm p}{\mathrm p} \rightarrow 2\pi^ + 2\pi^- 2\pi^0$, $\bar{\mathrm p}{\mathrm p} \rightarrow 2\pi^ + 2\pi^-\gamma$ and $\bar{\mathrm p}{\mathrm p}\rightarrow 4\pi^0\eta$. The $\eta^\prime$ and the $\eta$(1440) are seen in their decays into $\pi^ + \pi^-\eta$, $\pi^0\pi^0\eta$ and $\pi^ + \pi^-\gamma$ ; no signal is seen in the $4\pi$ invariant mass distribution. [...]

A Revised Experimental Upper Limit on the Electric Dipole Moment of the Neutron / Pendlebury, J  M (Sussex U.) ; Afach, S (PSI, Villigen ; Zurich, ETH) ; Ayres, N J (Sussex U.) ; Baker, C A (Rutherford) ; Ban, G (Caen U.) ; Bison, G (PSI, Villigen) ; Bodek, K (Jagiellonian U) ; Burghoff, M (Berlin, Phys. Tech. Bund.) ; Geltenbort, P (Laue-Langevin Inst.) ; Green, K (Guelph U. ; Rutherford) et al.
We present for the first time a detailed and comprehensive analysis of the experimental results that set the current world sensitivity limit on the magnitude of the electric dipole moment (EDM) of the neutron. We have extended and enhanced our earlier analysis to include recent developments in the understanding of the effects of gravity in depolarizing ultracold neutrons (UCN); an improved calculation of the spectrum of the neutrons; and conservative estimates of other possible systematic errors, which are also shown to be consistent with more recent measurements undertaken with the apparatus. Gravitational Depolarization of Ultracold Neutrons: Comparison with Data / Afach, S (Zurich, ETH) ; Ayres, N J ; Baker, C A (Rutherford) ; Ban, G (Caen U.) ; Bison, G (PSI, Villigen) ; Bodek, K (Jagiellonian U.) ; Fertl, M (PSI, Villigen ; Zurich, ETH) ; Franke, B (PSI, Villigen ; Zurich, ETH) ; Geltenbort, P (Laue-Langevin Inst.) ; Green, K (Guelph U. ; Rutherford) et al.
We compare the expected effects of so-called gravitationally enhanced depolarization of ultracold neutrons to measurements carried out in a spin-precession chamber exposed to a variety of vertical magnetic-field gradients. In particular, we have investigated the dependence upon these field gradients of spin depolarization rates and also of shifts in the measured neutron Larmor precession frequency. [...]

(Queen Mary, U. of London ; Rutherford ; St. Petersburg, INP)
A partial wave analysis of pbar-p -> eta-eta-pizero data from the Crystal Barrel experiment is made in terms of s-channel resonances. The decay channels a_0(980)-eta, f_0(1770)-pi and f_0(2105)-pi provide evidence for two I = 1 J^{PC} = 0^{-+} resonances. [...]

Study of pbar-p -> eta-eta-pizero-pizero in flight / Anisovich, A.V. (St. Petersburg, INP) ; Baker, C.A. (Rutherford) ; Batty, C.J. (Rutherford) ; Bugg, D.V. An analysis of data on pbar-p -> eta-eta-pizero-pizero is presented at pbar beam momenta 600 to 1940 MeV/c. There is evidence for an I = 1, J^PC = 2^-+ resonance in eta-eta-pizero with mass M = 1880 +- 20 MeV and width 255 +- 45 MeV, decaying strongly a2(1320)-eta; it is too strong to be explained as the high mass tail of \pi_2(1670) -> a2(1320)-eta. New Crystal Barrel data are reported for pbar-p -> omega-eta and pbar-p -> omega-pizero-pizero with omega decaying to piplus-piminus-pizero. The omega-eta data confirm angular distributions obtained earlier from data where omega -> pizero-gamma. [...]

Combined analysis of meson channels with I=1, C = -1 from 1940 to 2410 MeV / Anisovich, A.V. (St. Petersburg, INP) ; Baker, C.A. (Rutherford) ; Batty, C.J. (Rutherford) ; Bugg, D.V. (Queen Mary, U. of London)
New Crystal Barrel data are reported for pbar-p -> omega-pizero and pbar-p -> omega eta-pizero with omega decaying to piplus-piminus-pizero. The shapes of angular distributions agree well with those for data where omega -> pizero-gamma; this is a valuable cross-check on systematic errors. [...]

We present data on pbar-p -> eta-eta-pizero at beam momenta of 600, 900, 1050, and 1200 MeV/c. At the higher three momenta, a signal is clearly visible due to pbar-p -> f_0(1770)-pizero, f_0(1770) -> eta-eta. [...]
