(Royal Holloway, U. of London) et al.
The ReadOut System (ROS) is a central part of the data acquisition (DAQ) system of the ATLAS Experiment at the CERN Large Hadron Collider (LHC). The system is responsible for receiving and buffering event data from all detector subsystems and serving these to the High Level Trigger (HLT) system via a 10 GbE network, discarding or transporting data onward once the trigger has completed its selection process. [...]

The ATLAS experiment at the CERN Large Hadron Collider: a description of the detector configuration for Run 3 / ATLAS Collaboration
The ATLAS detector is installed in its experimental cavern at Point 1 of the CERN Large Hadron Collider. During Run 2 of the LHC, a luminosity of $\mathcal{L}=2\times 10^{34}\mathrm{cm}^{-2}\mathrm{s}^{-1}$ was routinely achieved at the start of fills, twice the design luminosity. [...]

The EXTRA-BL4S experiment for the measurement of the energy and angular distributions of transition radiation X-rays / e EXTRA-BL4S Collaboration
We have designed and implemented an experiment to measure the angular distributions and the energy spectra of the transition radiation X-rays emitted by fast electrons and positrons crossing different radiators. Our experiment was selected among the proposals of the 2021 Beamline for Schools contest, a competition for high-school students organized every year by CERN and DESY, and was performed at the DESY II Test Beam facility area TB21, using a high-purity beam of electrons or positrons with momenta in the range from 1 to 6 GeV/c. A Teacher’s Perspective on the CERN Beamline for Schools Competition / Boselli, Margherita (CERN) ; Bulson, Alison (West High School, Salt Lake City) ; Arce-Larreta, Enrique (West High School, Salt Lake City) ; Elorza, Uriel Garcia (UNAM, Mexico) ; Felici, Maria Rita (Liceo Sci. Stat., Ferno) ; González-Trueba, Laura Helena (UNAM, Mexico) ; Jacques, Denis (Ecole second. Cath., Cambridge, Ontario) ; Joos, Markus (CERN) ; Kempa, Janusz (Marshal Malachowski Second. School, Plock) ; Knapp, Lise (Ecole second. Cath., Cambridge, Ontario) et al.
We are a group of teachers who have independently participated in the CERN Beamline for Schools (BL4S) competition with teams of high school students from our schools between 2014 and 2021. All of our teams won the competition, and therefore our students had the opportunity to perform their proposed experiments at a particle accelerator. [...]

The ATLAS Fast TracKer system / ATLAS Collaboration
The ATLAS Fast TracKer (FTK) was designed to provide full tracking for the ATLAS high-level trigger by using pattern recognition based on Associative Memory (AM) chips and fitting in high-speed field programmable gate arrays. The tracks found by the FTK are based on inputs from all modules of the pixel and silicon microstrip trackers. [...]

The following article has been written primarily by the high school students who make up the team “Cryptic Ontics”, one of the two winning teams in the 2018 edition of CERN’s Beamline for Schools (BL4S) competition, and is based on the set of experiments the students endeavoured to conduct over the course of a two-week period at CERN. Reconstructing influential physical theories from scratch often helps in uncovering hitherto unknown logical connections and eliciting instructive empirical checkpoints within said theory. [...]
