Measurement of the background in the CMS muon detector in pp-collisions at s=13 TeV / CMS Muon Collaboration
The CMS detector, including its muon system, has been operating at the CERN LHC in increasingly challenging conditions for about 15 years. The muon detector was designed to provide excellent triggering and track reconstruction for muons produced in proton–proton collisons at an instantaneous luminosity (L) of 1×1034 cm2s1. [...]

Development of the CMS detector for the CERN LHC Run 3 / CMS Collaboration
Since the initial data taking of the CERN LHC, the CMS experiment has undergone substantial upgrades and improvements. This paper discusses the CMS detector as it is configured for the third data-taking period of the CERN LHC, Run 3, which started in 2022. [...]

Irradiation aging of the CMS Drift Tube muon detector / Ferrero, D.D. Redondo ; Abbiendi, G. ; Maestre, J. Alcaraz ; Fernández, A. Álvarez ; González, B. Álvarez ; Amapane, N. ; Bachiller, I. ; Barcala, J.M. ; Barcellan, L. ; Battilana, C. et al.
During the High Luminosity LHC, the Drift Tube chambers installed in the CMS detector need to operate with an integrated dose ten times higher than expected at the LHC due to the increase in integrated luminosity from 300 fb1 to 3000 fb1. Irradiations have been performed to assess the performance of the detector under such conditions and to characterize the radiation aging of the detector. [...]

The OBDT board: A prototype for the Phase 2 Drift Tubes on detector electronics / Sastre Álvaro, Javier (Madrid, CIEMAT) ; Triossi, Andrea (Strasbourg, IPHC) ; Bergnoli, Antonio (INFN, Padua) ; Griggio, Alessandro (INFN, Padua) ; Redondo Ferrero, David (Madrid, CIEMAT) /CMS muon group Collaboration
We present here the design and performance of the On-Board electronics for Drift Tubes board (OBDT), which is the new prototype built to substitute the Drift Tubes (DT) muon on-detector electronics at Compact Muon Solenoid experiment (CMS). The OBDT is responsible of the time digitization of the DT signals, allowing further tracking and triggering of the barrel muons. [...]

Performance of the CMS Level-1 trigger in proton-proton collisions at s= 13 TeV / CMS Collaboration
At the start of Run 2 in 2015, the LHC delivered proton-proton collisions at a center-of-mass energy of 13 TeV. During Run 2 (years 2015-2018) the LHC eventually reached a luminosity of 2.1 × 1034 cm2s1, almost three times that reached during Run 1 (2009-2013) and a factor of two larger than the LHC design value, leading to events with up to a mean of about 50 simultaneous inelastic proton-proton collisions per bunch crossing (pileup). Study of the effects of radiation on the CMS Drift Tubes Muon Detector for the HL-LHC / Abbiendi, G. (INFN, Bologna) ; Alcaraz Maestre, J. (Madrid, CIEMAT) ; Álvarez Fernández, A. (Madrid, CIEMAT) ; Álvarez González, B. (ICTEA, Oviedo) ; Amapane, N. (INFN, Turin ; Turin U.) ; Bachiller, I. (Madrid, CIEMAT) ; Barcala, J.M. (Madrid, CIEMAT) ; Barcellan, L. (INFN, Padua) ; Battilana, C. (INFN, Bologna ; U. Bologna (main)) ; Bellato, M. (INFN, Padua) et al. /CMS Muon group
The CMS drift tubes (DT) muon detector, built for withstanding the LHC expected integrated and instantaneous luminosities, will be used also in the High Luminosity LHC (HL-LHC) at a 5 times larger instantaneous luminosity and, consequently, much higher levels of radiation, reaching about 10 times the LHC integrated luminosity. Initial irradiation tests of a spare DT chamber at the CERN gamma irradiation facility (GIF++), at large (O(100)) acceleration factor, showed ageing effects resulting in a degradation of the DT cell performance.
