Precision measurement of the structure of the CMS inner tracking system using nuclear interactions / CMS Collaboration
The structure of the CMS inner tracking system has been studied using nuclear interactions of hadrons striking its material. Data from proton-proton collisions at a center-of-mass energy of 13 TeV recorded in 2015 at the LHC are used to reconstruct millions of secondary vertices from these nuclear interactions. [...]

A 4×8-Gbps VCSEL array driver ASIC and integration with a custom array transmitter module for the LHC front-end transmission / Guo, Di (Southern Methodist U. ; Hefei, CUST) ; Liu, Chonghan (Southern Methodist U.) ; Chen, Jinghong (Houston U.) ; Chramowicz, John (Fermilab) ; Gong, Datao (Southern Methodist U.) ; He, Huiqin (Southern Methodist U. ; Shenzhen, SUSTC) ; Hou, Suen (Taiwan, Inst. Phys.) ; Liu, Tiankuan (Southern Methodist U.) ; Prosser, Alan (Fermilab) ; Teng, Ping-Kun (Taiwan, Inst. Phys.) et al.
This paper describes the design, fabrication and experiment results of a 4×8-Gbps Vertical-Cavity Surface-Emitting Laser (VCSEL) array driver ASIC with the adjustable active-shunt peaking technique and the novel balanced output structure under the Silicon-on-Sapphire (SOS) process, and a custom array optical transmitter module, featuring a compact size of 10 mm×15 mm×5.3 mm. Both the array driver ASIC and the module have been fully tested after integration as a complete parallel transmitter. [...]

Description and performance of track and primary-vertex reconstruction with the CMS tracker / CMS Collaboration
A description is provided of the software algorithms developed for the CMS tracker both for reconstructing charged-particle trajectories in proton-proton interactions and for using the resulting tracks to estimate the positions of the LHC luminous region and individual primary-interaction vertices. Despite the very hostile environment at the LHC, the performance obtained with these algorithms is found to be excellent. [...]

Alignment of the CMS tracker with LHC and cosmic ray data / CMS Collaboration
The central component of the CMS detector is the largest silicon tracker ever built. The precise alignment of this complex device is a formidable challenge, and only achievable with a significant extension of the technologies routinely used for tracking detectors in the past. [...]

A Test Stand System for High-Energy Physics Applications / Cardoso, Guilherme ; Turqueti, Marcos ; Andresen, Jeff ; Chramowicz, John ; Deuerling, Greg ; Menasce, Dario ; Prosser, Alan ; Rivera, Ryan ; Uplegger, Lorenzo
The Front-End R&D; group at Fermilab has been developing pixel hybridized modules and silicon strip detectors for the past decade for high-energy physics experiments. To accomplish this goal, one of the activities the group has been working on includes the development of a flexible high-speed and high-bandwidth data acquisition and test system to characterize front-end electronics.
