Measurement of the mass difference between top quark and antiquark in pp collisions at $\sqrt{s} = 8$ TeV / CMS Collaboration
The invariance of the standard model (SM) under the CPT transformation predicts equality of particle and antiparticle masses. This prediction is tested by measuring the mass difference between the top quark and antiquark (Delta m[t] = m[t] - m[t-bar]) that are produced in pp collisions at a center-of-mass energy of 8 TeV, using events with a muon or an electron and at least four jets in the final state. Measurement of diffractive dissociation cross sections in pp collisions at $\sqrt{s}$ =7 TeV / CMS Collaboration
Measurements of diffractive dissociation cross sections in pp collisions at $\sqrt{s}$ = 7 TeV are presented in kinematic regions defined by the masses $M_X$ and $M_Y$ of the two final-state hadronic systems separated by the largest rapidity gap in the event. Differential cross sections are measured as a function of $\xi_X= M^2_X/s$ in the region $\log_{10}\xi_X$ between $-5.5$ and $-2.5$, for $\log_{10}M_Y$ lower than $0.5$, dominated by single dissociation (SD), and $\log_{10}M_Y$ between $0.5$ and $1.1$, dominated by double dissociation (DD), where $M_X$ and $M_Y$ are given in GeV. Measurement of the cross section ratio $\sigma_\mathrm{t \bar{t} b \bar{b}} / \sigma_\mathrm{t \bar{t} jj }$ in pp collisions at $\sqrt{s}$ = 8 TeV / CMS Collaboration
The first measurement of the cross section ratio $\sigma_\mathrm{ t \bar{t} b \bar{b}} / \sigma_\mathrm{ t \bar{t} jj }$ is presented using a data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 19.6 fb$^{-1}$ collected in pp collisions at $\sqrt{s}$ = 8 TeV with the CMS detector at the LHC. Events with two leptons ($\mathrm{e}$ or $\mu$) and four reconstructed jets, including two identified as b quark jets, in the final state are selected. [...]

A search is presented for a standard model-like Higgs boson decaying to the $\mu^+\mu^-$ or $\mathrm{e^+e^-}$ final states based on proton-proton collisions recorded by the CMS experiment at the CERN LHC. The data correspond to integrated luminosities of 5.0$~\mathrm{fb}^{-1}$ at a centre-of-mass energy of $7~\mathrm{TeV}$ and $19.7~\mathrm{fb}^{-1}$ at $8~\mathrm{TeV}$ for the $\mu^+\mu^-$ search, and of $19.7~\mathrm{fb}^{-1}$ at a centre-of-mass energy of $8~\mathrm{TeV}$ for the $\mathrm{e^+e^-}$ search. Study of Z production in PbPb and pp collisions at $\sqrt{s_{NN}}$ = 2.76 TeV in the dimuon and dielectron decay channels / CMS Collaboration
The production of Z bosons is studied in the dimuon and dielectron decay channels in PbPb and pp collisions at $\sqrt{s_{\mathrm{NN}}}$ = 2.76 TeV, using data collected by the CMS experiment at the LHC. The PbPb data sample corresponds to an integrated luminosity of about $150~\mu\mathrm{b}^{-1}$, while the pp data sample collected in 2013 at the same nucleon-nucleon centre-of-mass energy has an integrated luminosity of $5.4~\mathrm{pb}^{-1}$. Identification techniques for highly boosted W bosons that decay into hadrons / CMS Collaboration
In searches for new physics in the energy regime of the LHC, it is becoming increasingly important to distinguish single-jet objects that originate from the merging of the decay products of W bosons produced with high transverse momenta from jets initiated by single partons. Algorithms are defined to identify such W jets for different signals of interest, using techniques that are also applicable to other decays of bosons to hadrons that result in a single jet, such as those from highly boosted Z and Higgs bosons. Measurement of electroweak production of two jets in association with a Z boson in proton-proton collisions at $\sqrt{s}=8~\mathrm{TeV}$ / CMS Collaboration
The purely electroweak (EW) cross section for the production of two jets in association with a Z boson, in proton-proton collisions at $\sqrt{s}=8~\mathrm{TeV}$, is measured using data recorded by the CMS experiment at the CERN LHC, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of $19.7~\mathrm{fb}^{-1}$. The electroweak cross section for the $\ell \ell \mathrm{jj}$ final state (with $\ell$ = e or $\mu$ and $\mathrm{j}$ representing the quarks produced in the hard interaction) in the kinematic region defined by $M_{\ell\ell}$ > $50~\mathrm{GeV}$, $M_\mathrm{jj}$ > $120~\mathrm{GeV}$, transverse momentum $p_{\mathrm{Tj}}$ > $25~\mathrm{GeV}$, and pseudorapidity $|\eta_\mathrm{j}|$ < $5$, is found to be $\sigma_\mathrm{EW}(\ell\ell \mathrm{jj}) =174 \pm 15~\mathrm{(stat)} \pm 40~\mathrm{(syst)}~\mathrm{fb}$, in agreement with the standard model prediction. The associated jet activity of the selected events is studied, in particular in a signal-enriched region of phase space, and the measurements are found to be in agreement with QCD predictions..
