For the 14 mrad crossing angle proposed, crab cavity systems are fundamentally anticipated for the viable operation of the International Linear Collider (ILC), in order to maximise its luminosity performance. Since 2021, a specialist development team have been defining optimum crab cavity technologies which can fulfil the operational requirements for ILC, both for its baseline centre-of-mass energy of 250 GeV, but also extending those requirements out to higher beam collision intensities. Development of the Directly-Sliced Niobium Material for High Performance SRF Cavities
/ Kumar, Ashish (KEK, Tsukuba) ; Araki, Hayato (KEK, Tsukuba) ; Dohmae, Takeshi (KEK, Tsukuba) ; Ito, Hayato (KEK, Tsukuba) ; Saeki, Takayuki (KEK, Tsukuba) ; Umemori, Kensei (KEK, Tsukuba) ; Yamamoto, Akira (KEK, Tsukuba ; CERN ; JAI, UK ; Oxford U.) ; Yamanaka, Masashi (KEK, Tsukuba)
For the purpose of cost reduction for the ILC, KEK has been conducting R&D; on direct sliced Nb materials such as large grain and medium grain Nb. Single-cell, 3-cell, and 9-cell cavities have been manufactured, and each has demonstrated a high-performance accelerating gradient exceeding 35 MV/m. [...]

Towards a Muon Collider
/ Accettura, Carlotta (CERN) ; Adams, Dean (Rutherford) ; Agarwal, Rohit (UC, Berkeley (main)) ; Ahdida, Claudia (CERN) ; Aimè, Chiara (Pavia U. ; INFN, Pavia) ; Amapane, Nicola (INFN, Turin ; Turin U.) ; Amorim, David (CERN) ; Andreetto, Paolo (INFN, Padua) ; Anulli, Fabio (INFN, Rome) ; Appleby, Robert (Manchester U.) et al.
A muon collider would enable the big jump ahead in energy reach that is needed for a fruitful exploration of fundamental interactions. The challenges of producing muon collisions at high luminosity and 10 TeV centre of mass energy are being investigated by the recently-formed International Muon Collider Collaboration. [...]

First Operation of a Klystron Fitted with a Superconducting MgB₂ Solenoid
/ Catalán Lasheras, Nuria (CERN) ; Baig, Anisullah (Cockcroft Inst. Accel. Sci. Tech.) ; Boronat, Marça (CERN) ; Castilla, Alejandro (Cockcroft Inst. Accel. Sci. As part of the effort to reduce the energy consumption of large research facilities using accelerators, high efficiency klystrons are being developed by CERN. However, a large fraction of the wall-plug power required to operate these klystrons is used in the focusing magnetic elements around the klystron in the form of normal conducting solenoids. [...]
