Coupling of Magneto-Thermal and Mechanical Superconducting Magnet Models by Means of Mesh-Based Interpolation / Maciejewski, Michał (CERN) ; Bayrasy, Pascal ; Wolf, Klaus ; Wilczek, Michał ; Auchmann, Bernhard ; Griesemer, Tina ; Bortot, Lorenzo (CERN) ; Prioli, Marco (CERN) ; Fernandez Navarro, Alejandro Manuel ; Schöps, Sebastian et al.
In this paper we present an algorithm for the coupling of magneto-thermal and mechanical finite element models representing superconducting accelerator magnets. The mechanical models are used during the design of the mechanical structure as well as the optimization of the magnetic field quality under nominal conditions. [...]

Proposes to study the target fragmentation modes and\pi/sup +or-/, K ^{0}, Lambda , p and Lambda production in collisions of /sup 16/O with target nuclei ranging from /sup 40/Ca to /sup 206/Pb. The acceleration of /sup 16/O in the PS will be facilitated by a high charge state ion source installed at the Linac I. [...]

Particle production in central Pb + Pb collisions at 158 AGeV/c / NA44 Collaboration
The NA44 experiment has measured single-particle inclusive spectra for charged pions, kaons, and protons as a function of transverse mass near midrapidity in 158A GeV/c Pb+Pb collisions. From the particle mass dependence of the observed m/sub T/ distributions, we are able to deduce a value of about 120 MeV for the temperature at thermal freeze-out. [...]
