Monte-Carlo simulation of positronium laser excitation and anti-hydrogen formation via charge exchange / AEgIS Collaboration
The AEgIS experiment aims at producing antihydrogen (and eventually measuring the effects of the Earth gravitational field on it) with a method based on the charge exchange reaction between antiproton and Rydberg positronium. To be precise, antiprotons are delivered by the CERN Antiproton Decelerator (AD) and are trapped in a multi-ring Penning trap, while positronium is produced by a nanoporous silica target and is excited to Rydberg states by means of a two steps laser excitation. Compression of a mixed antiproton and electron non-neutral plasma to high densities / Aghion, Stefano (Milan Polytechnic ; INFN, Milan) ; Amsler, Claude (Stefan Meyer Inst. Subatomare Phys.) ; Bonomi, Germano (Brescia U. ; INFN, Pavia) ; Brusa, Roberto S (Trento U. ; INFN, Trento) ; Caccia, Massimo (INFN, Milan ; Insubria U., Como) ; Caravita, Ruggero (Genoa U. ; INFN, Genoa) ; Castelli, Fabrizio (INFN, Milan ; Milan U.) ; Cerchiari, Giovanni (Heidelberg, Max Planck Inst.) ; Comparat, Daniel (LAC, Orsay) ; Consolati, Giovanni (Milan Polytechnic ; INFN, Milan) et al.
We describe a multi-step “rotating wall” compression of a mixed cold antiproton–electron non-neutral plasma in a 4.46 T Penning–Malmberg trap developed in the context of the AEḡIS experiment at CERN. Such traps are routinely used for the preparation of cold antiprotons suitable for antihydrogen production. [...]

Skewed Sudakov Regime, Harmonic Numbers, and Multiple Polylogarithms / Kim, Victor T. (St. Petersburg, INP ; St. Petersburg Polytechnic Inst.) ; Matveev, Victor A. (Dubna, JINR ; Moscow, INR) ; Pivovarov, Grigorii B. (Moscow, INR)
On the example of massless QED we study an asymptotic of the vertex when only one of the two virtualities of the external fermions is sent to zero. We call this regime the skewed Sudakov regime. [...]

Dark Sectors 2016 Workshop: Community Report / Alexander, Jim (Cornell U., Phys. Dept.) ; Battaglieri, Marco (INFN, Genoa) ; Echenard, Bertrand (Caltech) ; Essig, Rouven (SUNY, Stony Brook) ; Graham, Matthew (SLAC) ; Izaguirre, Eder (Perimeter Inst. Theor. Phys.) ; Jaros, John (SLAC) ; Krnjaic, Gordan (Fermilab) ; Mardon, Jeremy (Stanford U., Phys. Dept.) ; Morrissey, David (TRIUMF) et al.
This report, based on the Dark Sectors workshop at SLAC in April 2016, summarizes the scientific importance of searches for dark sector dark matter and forces at masses beneath the weak-scale, the status of this broad international field, the important milestones motivating future exploration, and promising experimental opportunities to reach these milestones over the next 5-10 years..

Searching for energetic cosmic axions in a laboratory experiment: testing the PVLAS anomaly / Fairbairn, Malcolm (CERN) ; Gninenko, Sergei N. (Moscow, INR) ; Krasnikov, Nikolai V. (Moscow, INR) ; Matveev, Victor A. (Moscow, INR) ; Rashba, Timur I. (Munich, Max Planck Inst. ; Troitsk, IZMIRAN) ; Rubbia, Andre (Zurich, ETH) ; Troitsky, Sergey V. (Moscow, INR)
Astrophysical sources of energetic gamma rays provide the right conditions for maximal mixing between (pseudo)scalar (axion-like) particles and photons if their coupling is as strong as suggested by the PVLAS claim. This is independent of whether or not the axion interaction is standard at all energies or becomes supressed in the extreme conditions of the stellar interior. [...]

The Challenge of Light-Front Quantisation : Recent Results / Kim, Victor T. (St. Petersburg, INP ; CERN) ; Matveev, Victor A. (Moscow, INR) ; Pivovarov, Grigorii B. (Moscow, INR) ; Vary, James P. (Iowa State U.)
We explain what is the challenge of light-front quantisation, and how we can now answer it because of recent progress in solving the problem of zero modes in the case of non-Abelian gauge theories. [...]
