Dark fluxes from electromagnetic cascades / Blinov, Nikita (Victoria U. ; York U., Canada) ; Fox, Patrick J. (Fermilab) ; Kelly, Kevin J. (CERN ; Texas A-M) ; Machado, Pedro A.N. (Fermilab) ; Plestid, Ryan (Caltech)
We study dark sector production in electromagnetic (EM) cascades. This problem requires accurate simulations of Standard Model (SM) and dark sector processes, both of which impact angular and energy distributions of emitted particles that ultimately determine flux predictions in a downstream detector. There and back again: Solar cycle effects in future measurements of low-energy atmospheric neutrinos / Kelly, Kevin J. (CERN ; Texas A-M) ; Machado, Pedro A.N. (Fermilab) ; Mishra, Nityasa (Texas A-M) ; Strigari, Louis E. (Texas A-M) ; Zhuang, Yi (Texas A-M)
We study the impact of time-dependent solar cycles in the atmospheric neutrino rate at DUNE and Hyper-Kamiokande (HK), focusing in particular on the flux below 1 GeV. Including the effect of neutrino oscillations for the upward-going component that travels through the Earth, we find that across the solar cycle the amplitude of time variation is about $\pm5\%$ at DUNE, and $\pm 1\%$ at HK. Neutrino magnetic moment portal and supernovae: New constraints and multimessenger opportunities / Brdar, Vedran (CERN) ; de Gouvêa, André (Northwestern U.) ; Li, Ying-Ying (PCFT, Hefei ; USTC, Hefei) ; Machado, Pedro A.N. (Fermilab)
We scrutinize the hypothesis that gauge singlet fermions -- sterile neutrinos -- interact with Standard Model particles through the transition magnetic moment portal. These interactions lead to the production of sterile neutrinos in supernovae followed by their decay into photons and active neutrinos which can be detected at $\gamma$-ray telescopes and neutrino detectors, respectively. Neutrino Non-Standard Interactions: Complementarity between LHC and Oscillation Experiments / Babu, K S (Oklahoma State U.) ; Goncalves, Dorival (Oklahoma State U.) ; Jana, Sudip (Heidelberg, Max Planck Inst.) ; Machado, Pedro A N (Fermilab)
We investigate the complementarity between LHC searches and neutrino experiments in probing neutrino non-standard interactions. Our study spans the theoretical frameworks of effective field theory, simplified model and an illustrative UV completion, highlighting the synergies and distinctive features in all cases. [...]

Updated global analysis of neutrino oscillations in the presence of eV-scale sterile neutrinos / Dentler, Mona (Mainz U., Inst. Phys. ; U. Mainz, PRISMA) ; Hernández-Cabezudo, Álvaro (KIT, Karlsruhe, IKP) ; Kopp, Joachim (Mainz U., Inst. Phys. ; U. Mainz, PRISMA ; CERN) ; Machado, Pedro A.N. (Fermilab) ; Maltoni, Michele (Madrid, IFT) ; Martinez-Soler, Ivan (Madrid, IFT) ; Schwetz, Thomas (KIT, Karlsruhe, IKP)
We discuss the possibility to explain the anomalies in short-baseline neutrino oscillation experiments in terms of sterile neutrinos. We work in a 3+1 framework and pay special attention to recent new data from reactor experiments, IceCube and MINOS+. [...]

On Bimaximal Neutrino Mixing and GUT's / Altarelli, Guido (Rome III U. ; INFN, Rome3 ; CERN) ; Machado, Pedro A. N. (Madrid, Autonoma U. ; Madrid, IFT) ; Meloni, Davide (Rome III U. ; INFN, Rome3)
We briefly discuss the present status of models of neutrino mixing. Among the existing viable options we review the virtues of Bimaximal Mixing (that could be implemented by an $S_4$ discrete symmetry), corrected by terms arising from the charged lepton mass diagonalization. [...]
