Parity Violation in Cosmology: Does the Universe distinguish between left and right? / Komatsu, Eiichiro (speaker) (MPI Munich, Germany)
Parity symmetry is known to be violated in the weak interaction. Do the physical laws behind the unsolved problems of modern cosmology - cosmic inflation, dark matter, and dark energy - also violate parity symmetry? In this talk, we will discuss parity violation in cosmology, a topic that has received much attention in recent years..

Parity Violation in Cosmology / Komatsu, Eiichiro (speaker)
Parity symmetry is known to be violated in the weak interaction. Do the physical laws behind the unsolved problems of modern cosmology - cosmic inflation, dark matter, and dark energy - also violate parity symmetry? In this talk, we will discuss theoretical and observational possibilities of parity violation in cosmology, a topic that has received much attention in recent years..

The isotropic attractor solution of axion-SU(2) inflation: universal isotropization in Bianchi type-I geometry / Wolfson, Ira (SISSA, Trieste) ; Maleknejad, Azadeh (CERN) ; Murata, Tomoaki (Rikkyo U.) ; Komatsu, Eiichiro (Garching, Max Planck Inst. ; Tokyo U., IPMU) ; Kobayashi, Tsutomu (Rikkyo U.)
SU(2) gauge fields coupled to an axion field can acquire an isotropic background solution during inflation. We study homogeneous but anisotropic inflationary solutions in the presence of such (massless) gauge fields. [...]

CMB anisotropies at second order III: bispectrum from products of the first-order perturbations / Nitta, Daisuke (Tohoku U.) ; Komatsu, Eiichiro (Texas U. ; Tokyo U., IPMU) ; Bartolo, Nicola (INFN, Padova) ; Matarrese, Sabino (INFN, Padova) ; Riotto, Antonio (INFN, Padova ; CERN)
We calculate the bispectrum of the Cosmic Microwave Background (CMB) temperature anisotropies induced by the second-order fluctuations in the Boltzmann equation. In this paper, which is one of a series of papers on the numerical calculation of the bispectrum from the second-order fluctuations, we consider the terms that are products of the first-order perturbations, and leave intrinsically second-order terms and perturbations in the recombination history to the subsequent papers. CMBPol Mission Concept Study: Probing Inflation with CMB Polarization / Baumann, Daniel (Harvard U., Phys. Dept. ; Harvard U. ; Princeton U.) ; Jackson, Mark G. (Fermilab ; Leiden U.) ; Adshead, Peter (Yale U.) ; Amblard, Alexandre (UC, Irvine) ; Ashoorioon, Amjad (Michigan U.) ; Bartolo, Nicola (Padua U.) ; Bean, Rachel ; Beltran, Maria (Chicago U., KICP) ; de Bernardis, Francesco (Rome U.) ; Bird, Simeon (Cambridge U.) et al.
We summarize the utility of precise cosmic microwave background (CMB) polarization measurements as probes of the physics of inflation. We focus on the prospects for using CMB measurements to differentiate various inflationary mechanisms. [...]

Constraining the Topology of the Universe / Cornish, Neil J. (Montana State U.) ; Spergel, David N. (Princeton U.) ; Starkman, Glenn D. (Case Western Reserve U. ; CERN) ; Komatsu, Eiichiro (Princeton U. ; Texas U., Astron. Dept.)
The first year data from the Wilkinson Microwave Anisotropy Probe are used to place stringent constraints on the topology of the Universe. We search for pairs of circles on the sky with similar temperature patterns along each circle. [...]
